I've always wanted to stay at the Crockett Hotel in San Antonio in early March. People say there is a lot of ghostly activity around that time, and it's even better if you have a room facing the Alamo, because you can see activity taking place on the Alamo grounds.
I do seem to vaguely remember reading about this somewhere.

We never brought it up to him because it doesn't seem evil or even a problem tbh. He blessed the house the first weekend after we bought it so I have faith (GASP! Yes, I said FAITH) that anything that may be in the house is not evil natured. Don't get me wrong though, I have heard a man clear his throat in the middle of the night and we heard a kids voice one morning, all of us did, and that freaks me out to where I won't even get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.

And I have concluded for years with your last statement. It seems as though whatever is in the house just acts like they live there.
I'm a Christian too so I get that.

Was the child in question a girl by any chance? Are they awake when you guys are? Do they seem aware of you or anything?

Sorry about all the questions but I'm trying to make some sense out of this...

    No problem.

As for the camera...that's interesting. Very interesting. I only asked because I think the burning sounded malicious and I'd be very worried if you guys decided to try the board again. Though as I said it's ultimately your choice.
Yeah, it's pretty weird. The last thing the board said before we left was "burn". But we didn't think much about it at the time because it didn't make sense in the context of the conversation we were having.

Strange. Were the Native American tribes in that area nomadic or something? If you're seeing a cemetery that isn't there any more maybe there's something similar going on with the house? Did this ghost say or do anything that gave you a clue as to who/what it was?
I don't know about Nomadic. tbh, I've never heard of that tribe. For some reason, Cherokee sticks in my mind. And I think Cherokee makes sense given the region. Were the Nomadics know to be involved in the afterlife?
What's really weird is that my great grandpa used to talk to his son (my grandfather) about a TV show he used to watch about Native Americans and that halfway through the show, it would just stop and the TV would freeze. Here's the weird part...he died in 1938. BEFORE the U.S. even broadcast television!

Yup. My wife and I heard her voice while we were getting ready in the morning for work while my daughter was brushing her teeth. I called out to my daughter and asked what she said and she looked at me like I was crazy because she didn't say anything.

And they don't seem to be aware of us all the time. But the noises and footsteps aren't just heard in the middle of the night. We have had guests over during the day who have heard them too

    Serious question:

How much does it cost to have a priest come out to bless the house?

He didn't charge me anything. I asked him and he came out that weekend.

I'm not sure. I've been a member of St Joseph Catholic for 13 years now, since I moved to Dallas

I have a book at home about it. I just have to find it. That's where I first read about it, and it piqued my interest.

I've seen quite a range in this aspect. Sometimes, they will ask to trade a soul for the service. More often, they will simply request an evening with a young boy from the family.

You're stupid if you are so willing to quickly dismiss such a serious problem.

I'm not that naive to think a problem doesn't exist.

I don't think the conversation had anything to do with it tbh. Going by what I've heard/read though you might've engaged the wrong person. Since you don't strike me as particularly religious so much as searching, there's protocols there that I don't think you'd know about. I could be reading you wrong though...

The details might have varied some but I think most of the Native American tribes had a belief in the afterlife.

You know, that's really strange but I think there might be a reasonable explanation for that one. I'm a little sleep-deprived though so don't ask me to tell you what it is.

Hm... Well this is suggestive. And you're sure that these things have never engaged you or seemed aware of you (other than that lady standing behind you)?

Do you remember what happened when you told these things they could stay? What hauntings were you dealing with before moving to this current house?

As always, you don't have to answer...

Is believing you've felt someone's spirit the same thing?
Well, in theory I suppose it could. I've always viewed the practice of praying for the spirit of someone who's passed as a comfort thing.

We've never really asked for it to "give us a sign of their presence" or anything like that. I have felt that it has tried to get our attention by different things happening at once, but maybe my next step would be to try and "talk" to it and see if I can get it to respond to me somehow.

I've had experiences my whole life, since I was a kid. The house I grew up in San Antonio was nuts. I gotta some stories from there as well.

There was one day the light fixture in the laundry room fell down from the ceiling. It has 2 clips that you have to push up against to secure it. This was just last year. I would have written it off as to me not securing it, but at this point, we had been in the house 5 years and I never ever once changed that bulb, so it couldn't have been loose or anything like that. Immediately after that, we heard the footsteps walking across the living room, as if someone knocked down the light fixture and then walked away. That was weird.

Wow, too many to tell, but here's one:

We have a desk in the dining room where my mom would pay bills and kept all the important paperwork. The swivel chair we had in there was super old, and you couldn't breathe without that thing squeeking all the time. One night, I was going to crash out in the living room because I was up super late watching TV. I heard someone walk through the hall, heard someone sit on the desk chair because I heard the squeek and then heard the lamp click on. I thought it was weird for my mom or dad to be up at 3 in the morning doing something at the desk. I got up to see what was up, and no one was in the chair, but the lamp was on. The dining room is on the other side of the house, opposite from the bedrooms, so one of my parents couldn't have gone to the desk and then left really quick without me running into them in the hall. That was weird.

Pfft. I'm beginning to think there's a pattern to what he's recounting. The more information the better.

...Interesting. I'm not going to lie this is really fascinating. You articulate your memories fairly well.

Was your family's house in the same area? I guess that would be Dallas in this case- and were there any religious groups or sites based near there? Did your father ever use this desk and if he did do you know how often/what typically for?

Do you remember what type of desk this was and about how far the chair was from it when you went to check?...Can you remember the same for the pulled out formal dining room chairs in your current house as well?

And as an aside, what incidents made you think that these things were attempting to get your attention?

Also, did your daughter throw any tantrums when she was (more of) a child? About how high up would you say the kitchen table is?

I'll apologize again for grilling you like this. Don't answer (or if you don't want to here you can *pretty please* PM me) if you'd prefer not to. Thanks in advance though.
