Theres a process. Calling Amy a home wrecking isn't the first step. The process is laid out elsewhere. Mat 18:17 and in Corinthians where church discipline is discussed. Also Eze 3 and 33. That's just for starters. And nowhere does it say hit a kid who isn't yours. It says to rebuke severely those who persist in their sin after being warned.
I don't know Tim or Amy so it would be hard for me to even begin to counsel them. But I will not publicly support any suggestion that Tim should just move on with another girl or girls. That's wrong and any Christian who says such an ignorant, unscriptural thing will get a rebuke from me, I guarantee ya that.

Paul is reemphasizing something he already taught which is an almost word for word repeat of what Jesus said in Matthew 18. The only part up for interpretation is what cons utes a church. And with the many mistranslations in various places one must know a little Greek to truly grasp the meaning of what church even is.
We are ordered to use righteous judgment to discipline the faith. Without judgment one cannot rebuke someone and order them, just as Christ did, to go and sin no more.
God judges those outside. That is his purview. We are commanded to judge fellow believers so they will do what is right. Your inability to grasp this is astounding.

Incorrect interpretation of the Greek words moichea and porneia (adultery and fornication, respectively). It is referring to Jewish betrothal, not marriage.
So when Jesus defined those who love Him what did He say?
And on what words are we judged?
And He who the Son sets free is free of what?

The word is fornication. Sexual immorality is a modern mistranslation started with the NIV.
It refers to Jewish Betrothal, as in Mary and Joseph (Matthew 1). Mary was Joseph's ESPOUSED wife. His fiancé. To end a betrothal one had to prove porneia and get a "divorce" (the man expected a virgin bride--betrothal period was intended to prove she was not pregnant, etc.). It is the same word used in John 8:41 to mock Jesus of being born from porneia (premarital sex, ie fornication).
Matthew 5 actually proves that adultery is not grounds for divorce, but it is hard to get into right now so let's just stick with 19:9... For it to be true then every other scripture citing the permanence of marriage would not be true and that's not how it works.
Matthew is internally consistent. To understand Matthew 19 you must understand Matthew 1.
