I wonder when these morons will realize nobody outside of their gay circle jerk group think they're good posters?

They'd get laughed off of any other basketball forum.

They don't even have majority support here. They're just on here all the time and post like 30+ times a day so it seems like more people agree with them than really is the case. If you pay attention, it's always the same group of people with the occaisional nut hugger latching on hoping to get bolded.

I like it too, and if they keep both Maggette and Young then small ball becomes a decent option as well. I agree with you on the variability of the players, the Spurs IMHO have one of the most flexible teams in the league allowing Pop to experiment depending on match ups and especially to sus ute when someone is having an off night or injured.
I also hope for good things out of Beli as well as an improvement from Manu.
But if they opt to keep both SFs then they will have to get rid obf someone as you well know, most probably one of their guards. I like Mills but with Brown at Philly it seems like the Spur thing to do to send him there although they don't need any PGs.
Don't forget, the Spurs also like to keep a spot open throughout the season to keep some flexibility in order to snag someone they might like or try out on 10 day contracts.
Yeah, I'm a lot happier with the team now that we've added these two guys than I was after the initial free agent signings were over. I still kinda don't like how we didn't add another playmaker, but maybe one of our PGs can step up. Joseph maybe?

Not 100% on who they'd get rid of if they kept both guys. I guess in all likelihood they won't keep both. . .but I would rather do without one of the PGs than not have Young and Magette (assuming they're cheap and ready to go). I would like to keep Mills though, I think he has potential. At worst he's a good shooter who's pretty quick. At best he might end up as a JJ Barea-esque "lightning in a bottle" type guy who goes from "eh" to savior because he got hot at the right time.

Kk, the more I read about Kabongo, the more I like him. You should check him out if you get the chance.
And to tell you the truth, I am not really sold on Young or Maggette, they both have too many downsides.
The Spurs may decide not to sign either and see who is available before the season starts or during the season before the trade deadline.

I've bought it up before, but no ones seems to listen or didn't bother reading it. Someone (don't recall who it was) said a few weeks ago said that both Tim and Tony asked the Spurs front office to keep Mills around for longer than this upcoming season.

Do you guys think that there is any truth to that? If so, how are we supposed to trade him if both those guys want him on the team? I thought Mills, Decolo and possibly Joseph are guys that the Spurs would want to move, so not sure what I think about it if Tim and Tony don't want Mills traded.

I remember you mentioning this. So I did a little research and tried to find the reference, but had no luck finding it.
If you have any clues as to where to look I would really like to know.

I think it was an Australian poster who said it. It was definitely someone on this site. He said he heard it when Patrick was in Australia recently. I'd like to read it again too. I thought he was someone we should look at trading, but not sure what to think about it if both Tim and TP really want him to stay on the team.

take it with a grain of salt. better two grains. a comment like maybe "I have a good relationship with Tim and Tony" is quickly turned into something completly different, especially by local media or local fans.

remember that both of Tim's reportedly best friends on the team were traded. (Antonio Daniels in 2002 and Malik Rose in 2005). could have Tim vetoed such a move? sure he could. did he? no. he understands better than any player, what the business is about. if Pop and RC decide to move Mills, (b/c they need the roster spot, for example) neither Tim nor Tony will do anything to block this move.

I found the post. Not sure who Benfti's source is, but here it is anyway :

I was told from a very source the other day that TP and timmy have asked RC to see that Patty remain a spur after this season. Testament to his standing in the inner sanctum

I can further that. My source is an agent. Also there is several comments made by Tony and Tim on Australian TV (a show that is airing again on Thursday, which i will record
and upload) which fell into line with what the agent told me as to their respective opinions on Mills as a player and a person

Well, if they like him that much, then I am willing to give him another chance.

The main problem I have with him is his defense. He was just as bad, if not worse than Neal when it came to losing three point shooters and being stuck in no mans land, which in turn led to huge runs from other teams. That last regular season game against Golden State, they completely buried us when he had defensive lapses and left their shooters wide open, time after time after time. After that game I just wasn't happy with him at all. He really needs to work on his rotations and awareness if he is to stay on the team. I think he will come around on offense, but defense is where he needs a lot of work.

Thanks for posting and telling us where your info came from.

I'll check into him now, I heard about him recently but I won't lie. . .I've never heard of him before then.

I'm seeing some about him being on the Miami Heat summer league team and being "friends with James". Why didn't they want him? The skills they talk about seem enticing and what the Spurs look for, but why would Miami pass up on a freebie like that? Entirely set on Chalmbers and Cole, or is there more to it?

As for Magette. . .yeah I'm not sold on him, but Young I really want. Assuming he ends up being a decent 3pt shooter playing off of our better players (should be open a lot like all our SFs end up being with Parker, Duncan, and Ginobili demanding so much attention), his added defense off the bench is one of the two things we were really missing last year. That and a 3rd playmaker, which we won't be getting. . .but it's nice to only have one particular weakness. Most teams have a lot more than we do.

The opinions are pretty equally divided as to who might be the better fit for the Spurs between Cojo and Kabongo.
However, Kabongo wins the name contest hands down!

Perhaps our standards are just a bit high. A 13th or 14th man on your roster isn't going to be perfect. If he's a good fit that your core players like, and he can drop 60 total points in B2B games, AND will play for the minimum, or close to it, you re-sign him.

he'll never play if he's on the roster all season. pop will keep him on the end of the bench until he complains and is eventually cut.

Hi mate, I didn't want you to go to the trouble to upload the video, but if you could, I'm now even more interested in seeing what the comments from Tim and Tony were, as people are still saying that he should be traded.

Surely Maggette could beat out Young in a backup SF battle in training camp? Anyone heard how the SF spot is going?

Knowing Pop, Young will probably win it.

Free agent Sam Young has signed a contract with the Sydney Kings of the National Basketball League in a deal that contains an NBA escape clause, agent Joel Bell told RealGM.
“Sam had other options, but this one made the most sense and will pay him as the highest player in the league,” Bell said.
