Silver Dancers must have had plans as well, they cleared off the court almost as fast as the Nets

we dodged a bullet (pun intended) with AK-47; let him have his under the table deal with the Nets
I have been thought this personally, he is way too injury prone and has been for his career. If healthy in his 20's he was a beast with big upside, he is not near what he was though with Utah.

    Parker heroing per par
Splitter with the nice moves and immediately post him up again calling for it
Parker calls him off so he can go hero

this is why Kawhi cant break out tbh..
This kind of "observation" and evaluation intra-game is why I no longer look at ST during a game. I watched Parker miss a couple of early shots last night and thought to myself "someone is going to accuse him of hero-balling because Pop called a play for him and he missed his shot." Sure enough, this morning I look at the in-game comments and this starts on page 2. Not only accusing Parker of hero balling, but claiming that such hero-balling is why Splitter and Kawhi cannot break out.

Some facts from last night game:

Parker played more minutes (27 plus) than any other Spur, per par.

Parker took 7 shots and made 4 of them while giving out 6 assists, (more assists than any other Spur)

Kawhi Leonard took 6 shots (one less than Tony) and made 3 of them.

Splitter took 6 shots and made three of them.

Duncan ( 11 shots),Manu (8 shots) and Mills (15 shots) all took more shots than Tony did.

Tony shot over 50% but got himself to the free throw line by driving to the lane and forcing the other team to foul him repeatedly, making 9 of his 9 free throws.

Tony played a smart, controlled game, ending up with more points than any other spur while taking fewer shots than several others.

Some day Spurstalk posters may learn that Pop sends Tony into the lane as part of the offensive scheme to take shots even if they don't go in because Parker doing that forces the defense to pay attention to those drives which frees up other players for their shots at different times of the game. Just like the three point shooters HAVE to shoot when the ball comes to them when they are open to keep the defense honest, Tony HAS to take those shots when those plays are called for him for the same damn reason.

Well said. Tony plays the offense as its designed. This hero ball stuff is greatly exaggerated.
