Usually when someone says they work with something, it's internet code for "I'm not actually involved with it". Example: "I work with multimillion dollar equipment" translation: "I am a security guard at a high tech facility" or "I put product on and take product off of equipment that I've been told is very expensive". Then you get the engineering fluffers who interface with engineering but don't actually engineer anything, they just do the charts and graphs for the presentations and get online and use the lingo all the while staying just outside the liability bubble where they can be pinned down with specific questions.
Now I am not suggesting you are either of these, but I feel pretty comfortable in saying that you're not a designer of anything and you don't hold a high position compared to your "field". I say that because of your uppity at ude toward people with lower job sets, which is usually an indication of having little job syndrome.
