That eating grin on his face is so priceless. Tim and Baynsie ate Howard's lunch that series.

No one here has snuck in to the facility to see the results?

It sounds fine, its swollen, he will get rest and the swelling will go away, he could probably play on it if he needed too. But why not sit him and have him at 100% for playoffs. We dont need him now and the team can figure out how to play without him if need be over the next 4 games.
I am glad it is fine. I wonder why it got swollen? Since he is fine, per your assessment, it must be just random swelling in a calf like we all get from time to time. Mine looks like a ing watermelon, at the moment. Probably no underlying cause to worry about. Couple days rest and I should be good to go. Or dead.

Swelling in the same calf that caused him to miss 22 games previously this year. Of course it isn't fine. He's got something ed up in there that won't allow him to play even as reliably as our 40 year old. He had an ample and conservative rest schedule, and it still isn't healed. It sucks, but it is what it is. He will be able to play through it, or he won't. But, given the length of time it took him to recover to less than 100% the last time, I don't think it would be prudent to be expecting him to be 100% a week after reaggravating it.

This is not meant as a bash on Tiago. I don't think he is soft, etc. like so many others. He is just injured. It happens. Some people are unlucky, or less-durable, but it doesn't make them soft. I am sure if he can contribute, he will.

Baynes can equal Splitter on offense (shooting), but not on defense and definitely not as a pick and roll guy. Definitely need Splitter for the playoffs, but Baynes can do well in the interim. He has been a key signing this year. Not sure where we would be without him.
We might have fallen all the way to fifth or six in the West with whomever his replacement would have been.

I don't remember him being out with the same injury for 22 games, previous to that reinjury. I guess they ARE the same. And, being prudent and measured with one's expectations =\= freaking out.

Wouldn't be surprised if they just sit him until the 1st round starts.

Lack of improvement is concerning. Spurs need a healthy Splitter against Randolph, Dirk, Aldridge, and Griffin.

I think (hope) they're just being extra cautious. He might be able to play if it were a playoff game, but they're just giving him rest so he can be 100% once the playoffs start.

Well we know Splitter is injury prone, but im more worried about how long it takes for him to get back into form.

Last injury he came back it took him like 20 games to get back to proper form.

I am less worried now that Baynes has been beasting he has really raised his level of play in Splitters absence.

if we get the 2 or 3 seed we won't need tiago much. we won't play mephis or GS in the first round. Duncan and Baynes are playing well. Take your time Tiago

Loved Splitter vs. Aldridge and Dirk last year. Not saying, we absolutely need him vs. e.g. Dallas, but he would be a big plus in shortening the series.

dirk is a s now. There's an outside chance that Dirk gets back his shot. But Dallas is easy. Stop monta, stop chandler. Let everyone else play hero. Dirk is a roleplayer. This aint 2011
