Hearing lots of Trump voters (antiwar wing) threatening to not vote for trump in 2020 if Assange is comvicted
Yeah right they'd vote for him if he fellated Kim at home plate of Yankee Stadium on Live TV because at least he didn't lick his ass like Hillary would have

    No you're not.

There is no "antiwar wing" -- there are only Trump supporters. The only thing Trump has to do to keep their votes is to be on the ballot.

    They already opened the box

Assange offered to help Manning crack a US Department of Defense password.

    That is not journalism.

You might want to tell the NYT and WaPo that receiving classified, password-protected information could be indictable, they won Pulitzer Prizes off the info Assange/Snowden gave them. They also have secure, anonymized info drops, is that not encouraging people to crack passwords?

    Read this again:

Assange offered to help Manning crack a US Department of Defense password.

    That is not journalism.

If you have examples of journalists working for WaPo or the NYT offering to hack DoD passwords for a person stealing that information, post them right now. I would love to read all about them.

It's not spying either. Maybe it is indictable as a computer crime.

I'm inclined to agree with what hater said. This is mainly about showing up Wikileaks for showing up the USG as corrupt and lying, which touches the core mission of journalism: holding power accountable for what it does.

I didn't say that. Read my statement again.

on the Manning case, Assange did not offer. Manning asked if he could hack passwords and he said yes. There was no discussing as to what that password was going to be used for.

and LOL thinking US would go to these lenghts to punish a password hack attempt (unsucsessful on top)

they would charge assange with jaywalking if it meant getting their hands on him. they obviously want to punish him for leaking US dirty underwear

Assange is a s bag. Full stop

Wikileaks may have started out as a haven for whistleblower but they are certainly not that anymore. Basically a hack station for hire these days.

Do I think Assange is sleazy? Yes.

Do I think Wikileaks itself became a racket at some point, yep.

Hackers can and do serve the public. Assange had his moment, it certainly seems to have impressed the USA enough to extradite Assange for an offense that did the USA no harm.

Helping a Federal criminal to steal secret govt info is Federal criminal complicity.

And yes, US gov certainly seeks revenge for being embarrassed, humiliated before its allies, its enemies, and the world for not being able to keep its butt cheeks together.
