Since the first TNT game he’s said that Vassell takes bad shots. Which isn’t really a false statement. His shot selection difficulty is much higher than what you would want. I’m kinda surprised when some of them go in.
Nah. Like maybe it doesn't get blocked from getting to Wemby if it's higher, but Victor isn't getting his full jump in traffic. It would be a low-percentage pass. Dude was at least double-covered. I wouldn't feel confident in him securing the catch and scoring even if he got a clean attempt. Not every team has the defensive principles of the Suns.

I've been giving POP crap for bad coaching. Nothing new, I've been saying it for 20 years.
But, these players...wow. Really bad. I'd only keep 2. Collins and Wemby...maybe Branham. As good as Vassel is on offense, is how bad he is on Defense.
So, it's not all Pops fault I guess. Tho, he prolly had something to do with roster selection. And it's not just this game. They haven't been able to put together decent entry passes since the beginning of the season. Can't guard 3 point line...at all. Etc...lot to do with POP.
But, these are some pretty awful players.
energy really fell off in the end of the second quarter and didn't really like the sets we were getting into, but champagnie imo is for real, it is not the first time he looks a legitimate talent on the defensive end.
Devin misses a PG as much as Victor. Hence the bad (difficults) shots

chuck is right about vassell. for all the talk about him bulking up and all that, he's still just taking a lot of step back contested shots... that to his credit he's gotten good at. but you cant live off of that. vassell needs to be able to get to the rim and free throw line more consistently.
to be fair, on an offense as directionless as this, we are kind of in a perpetual state of needing bailout shots
