The fact that no one from the team apparently has talked to him is concerning. That does make one wonder about a stroke. But big picture, he's so intensely private there's a lot of ways this could go.
Why he tries to control your whole life?
He tries to tell you who to vote for !
The players are their to learn basketball not politics no matter what side you want to win

I believe he has has skin cancer on his face before? If this is the case I wonder if this is what he is going through and maybe they just had to remove a lot of tissue which requires a couple of days of rest not sure if it it’s the type that requires radiation/chemo?

It's actually pretty impressive how they've kept what actually happened to him secret in 2024. Probably one of the few good things PATFO are still good at tbh.

This is a possibility. Kudos for your good memory. The face tumor he had before was a basil cell carcinoma. My dad used to get them. It grows really fast and needs to be cut out, but is otherwise not life-threatening. There is no radiation required.

Stop speculating. They clearly said it was something that happened before the game on Saturday.

Most people over 70 going once or twice a year to get skin cancer burned off. It’s nothing out of the ordinary,

We fans can speculate it is our right. It is our right at the game to boo the other team players
Pop has no right to tell fans in stand not to boo the other team players. Pop is trying to control every aspect in basketball fans life and other things. His legacy is going in the toilet. Now instead of stepping down and telling fans he can not coach he is not saying anything and just wants to collect his money and not work. He owes the nba world an update on his Heath.

Trump on Monday before the election did 4 rallies average rally speech 4 hours. The last one started at midnight and went to 2 am. Not bad for a 78 year old.
His age is not the issue the issue is his health. No he will not coach 3 more nba finals because hopefully the spur front office will grow a pair of balls and fire him over his Heath. Can not do the job you quit or you ge Fired!

I dont know how the stupid fat bas has so much energy. Maybe he should be a case study on how living like a fat slob is actually better.

78 year old Dump getting a day above ground is still a good day as he could drop dead anytime.

If you are joining this discussion late, just want to get you caught up.

In the spirit of Dr. Steven Brule let's ask: What have we learned?

-Something happened before the game on Saturday
    -Pop can talk
-Mitch Johnson has his hands full

It would be cool for the Spurs to have enough respect for their fans to at least address the situation in some way. I get it, Pop and the Spurs want privacy. But leaving everyone the dark is rather disrespectful to those who love the team and genuinely care about Pop (even without having ever met him).

Even a vague, not really insightful, light hearted statement like this would be better than nothing:

"Coach Pop continues to get some rest and focus on his health. We do not know when he will return to the bench but he is watching every game and sending notes to Mitch and has even suggested the team run some lines at practice to account for silly turnovers in the last minute of last night's victory versus Portland"
