Welcome to whom? US passport holders are already here.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/tru...ard-rcna351945The District of Columbia has settled a lawsuit by a protester who said he was detained and handcuffed for following National Guard troops around the city while playing Darth Vader’s theme song from “Star Wars.”
The terms of the agreement were not immediately disclosed, but the American Civil Liberties Union, which represents demonstrator Sam O’Hara in the case, said in a press release that he was receiving compensation. The group did not immediately respond to a request for more details.

I guess none of the staff do.
“Loitering is not permitted in this area. Please proceed to a designated location. Thank you for your cooperation,” a surveillance machine tells a small cluster of National Guard members as they patrol the fenced off Reflecting Pool in the rain.

VANDALS! ARREST THEM!
Aren't malls and national monuments basically designed for loitering?
Maybe it's time for Trump to rename it "The Donald J Trump Reflection Pool" and charge admission, build border fences around it and put in security to pat down potential savage vandals.

https://wtop.com/dc/2026/06/lawmaker...s-health-risk/The group of lawmakers, led by members of Congress from Maryland, Virginia and D.C., sent a letter to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum demanding the removal of what they described as more than 35,000 cubic yards of “toxic debris” left at the course after the demolition of the White House East Wing.
“For nearly eight months, golfers, cyclists, runners, fishermen and members of the public have been exposed to such debris, which contains dangerous levels of arsenic, lead and mercury,” the lawmakers wrote. “Even more troubling is your failure to release reliable test results on the potential asbestos content that may be mixed in with the demolition materials of the East Wing.”

"Unusual" is how Wapo describes presidential actions that are illegal

DOGE impounded humanities spending, then Trump took it for himself
https://www.notus.org/agencies/doge-...-250th-fundingBy the time Elon Musk walked away from DOGE last year, state humanities councils were left with just enough cash to keep them from going under. Then, the Trump administration redirected tens of millions of dollars from the DOGE cuts toward the president’s plans for a triumphal arch and a statuary garden of “American heroes” in Washington, D.C. In the end, Trump’s focus on the nation’s landmark birthday made it harder for local groups across the country to plan their own celebratory projects.
“As the director of Ohio Humanities, I don’t take any sort of position about those particular projects. But what I do think is important is that Americans have access to funding and have access to history and humanities experiences in their own communities,” said Rebecca Brown Asmo, the executive director of Ohio Humanities. “And we’re missing that as a result of now a second year of this funding being held back.”
“These are taxpayer dollars that are intended to go to local communities. And right now, they’re being held back and funneled to projects in Washington, D.C.,” she said.

DC trial jury is going to nope out on this like they did with the felony footlong guy
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...ism-rcna352788U.S. Olympic canoeist David “Davey” Hearn was indicted Thursday on a single count of destruction of property following his arrest last month at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
Hearn was indicted in D.C. Superior Court on the felony charge.
Hearn previously told NBC News that he was arrested and detained for five hours on June 19 after he touched a piece of the detached coating in the pool. He said he had stopped at the landmark during a bike ride “to satisfy my curiosity as a citizen of what was happening with all the algae and the peeling blue coating.”
Hearn said he did not remove, tear, or destroy any of the coating.
“The condition of the Reflecting Pool was the same after I stepped away from the water as it was before I got there,” he said.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/conormu...ruction-blitz/A White House official told CNN the North Portico is “undergoing standard restoration work” to repair stones in the columns, one of several concurrent construction projects taking place at the White House and across Washington.
Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum told podcast host Katie Miller earlier this week the North Portico columns are undergoing repairs, saying the construction should be finished “very quickly.”
“President Trump comes out to greet a world leader, sees door dings in the pillars, and he says, ‘Look at all this stuff that needs to be repaired,’” Burgum told Miller.
Earlier this week, Trump told reporters construction workers have “taken about 150 years of paint off of the columns and re-did them,” saying they were “in very bad shape” and “treated very badly by a lot of presidents."
