The Spurs are 4 and 4 when Bonner plays significant minutes. Nazr is a hall of famer compared to Elson. Rasho is the NBA logo compared to Elson.
Please. The 4 and 4 means jack considering how the main players played in those games. You're being a hater just to be a hater, but thats your schtick on here. I should know better than to even argue with you.

Come on dude, even a Spurs fan wearing an Elson jersey with a long chain can realize he isn't very good.

Neither were Rasho and Nazr. He's not as good at defense although I think he can improve, but he's also faster and capable of running the way those 2 aren't. He's got better hands and finishes around the rim better, so what the ? Its a wash at worst.

I hate to say this, but Rasho and Nazr in the middle helped the spurs lead the league in defense. Elson, Oberto, Duncan and horry lead the league in ESPN dunk highlights.

With a hobbled Tim Duncan, who STILL dominated your ass. Tim Duncan is playing lazy and bored as this year, and he's putting up better numbers than last year. Thats something for you to be worried about. Has the defense declined? Yes but the offense has gotten better. Thats not to say that if the defense doesn't improve - and theres plenty of reason to believe it will because it always has in the past - that they won't be just as good as the Mavs. Actually, the truth is that they're just as good as the Mavs now. So if you're exstatic about the Spurs coming down and the Mavs meeting them as some sub championship level, then HOOOOOOOOOOO ing RAY for the Mavs and their fans.

Thats the exact reason that bringing up the championships is so damny funny. For Mavs fans, that 2nd round series WAS your championship. You somehow think that we "should live in the present" where you're nothing more than the equal fo the Spurs and that because the Spurs have regressed a bit and the Mavs have improved a bit that a championship is somehow sure to follow.

Once again, let me know when the Mavs actually arrive. I'm tired of hearing that they're on the up.

Anyhow, The core of this team is more than young enough. Tim/Tony/Manu will be around for years and years, and as well as our front office has done in the past, I'm very confident they'll do something worthwhile again in the future. They have huge cap flexibility to work with in a couple of years, and they have prospects that can become cheap options for them as well. If you want to talk about a team on the decline, look at your Mavericks in a couple of years. You remind me a lot of the teams that never got over the top, had a short window, and had that window close on them as quickly as it opened.

Congrats on your 2nd round championship over the Spurs. Maybe you can have a banner made of that.
Such atrocious denial about the FACT that the Spurs are old and on the decline.

Then you throw out some absolutely worthless conjecture out there about how you think the Mavs in a few years will be on the decline. A bold prediction, I must say. Unfortunately, it doesn't carry nearly as much weight as the observation based on concrete evidence that the Spurs are, here and now, slipping quickly.

Congrats on your 2nd round exit at the hands of the Mavs. I hope you were one of the 15,000 fans I laughed at as they folded up their "I Believe!" signs and sobbed uncontrollably on their way out of the arena.

I suppose I don't need to tell you congrats on that, though. You can just point to your old banners and crow some more each time you feel threatened by a younger, better team.

Stop living in the past Mavs fan. Geez. You see, ever fan has to drop back into the past in some way. The difference is that when you do it, you have one 2nd round series to hold up and nothing else. Thats why you get pissed.

On the decline? WE SET A RECORD IN WINS LAST SEASON!

Its funny that you act as if the Spurs have fallen off so far that they're somehow worse than your Mavs who couldn't finish off the "old" Heat!

Dropping back to the most recent playoff series between our two teams is hardly dropping back deep into the past.

Damn, just saw on TNT, the best defense in the NBA is played in the state of Texas:

Top 3 teams in Points allowed:

    1) Houston
    2) San Antonio
    3) Dallas (allowing 90 ppg)

Uh, what the else are fans supposed to do? Are they supposed to trot out 2nd round series wins? Are they supposed to trot out Finals choke jobs? Fans don't play the games, there really isn't much else for them to do. Clearly on the decline? A team that was clearly on the decline was the one you BARELY got past last year. If you think that somehow the Mavs have made this magical jump to where they are in anything but a toss up situation then I'm going to say that you're quite delusional.

Sure, the Mavs are playing better than the Spurs in Januaray, but thats not when championships are won. For all the ing that we Spurs fans do here around this time on an annual basis, we have a saying.

    SPAM.

    Spurs peak after March.

And it holds true and true each year. So like I said earlier, feel free to celebrate your grand win streak and celebrate your lead in the division and confrence, but when it comes down to it your team hasn't proven . Championships aren't won before the all-star break so you'll have to forgive me if I miss where this team is clearly on the decline. I forgot how young that team was that kicked your ass in the Finals last year was. Timmy was once Shaqs age. Oh how I miss the day when that was the case.

    Manny rocks!

Oh, so dropping back into the past is at YOUR discretion. Its OK based upon YOUR criteria. I see. I wouldn't call dropping back into 2005 going deep into the past either especially considering both teams had the same cores, but I guess because that doesn't shine favorably upon the Mavs then we should refrain from pointing out that we have a championship banner with that year on it.

But even if we just drop back to last year, yay you beat the Spurs. You still didn't win it all. So you have scoreboard on the Spurs. Maybe you can have a ring made up that says as much.

We care less about losing to the Mavs last year because we as fans have had the pleasure of celebrating an NBA championship 3 more times than the Mavs had. In the end, thats all that matters. No one will remember 20 years from now who the Spurs lost to in the 2nd round of the 2006 playoffs. But they'll remember who won it all.

Funny, the faces on the thousands of Spurs fans I encounter at every loss to the Mavs at the ATT Center (and there have been a lot recently) seem to convey, contrary to what you say, that they do care. Substantially.

Thats great. I guess you met your preseason goal of being better than the Spurs in one season. Props!

DON'T YOU SEE HOW RE ED IT IS THAT YOUR BEST CLAIM IS THAT YOU BEAT THE SPURS IN ONE SECOND ROUND SERIES?

Great, The Mavs were better than us last year. Stop living in the past, no?

The Mavs have yet to prove anything this year, nor have they yet to ever prove they are the best. 2nd or 3rd is meaningless.

It is funny how Mav's fans seem to think they are on top of the world after one semi-finals win against the spurs.... and going on to choke against an extremely weak ass eastern conference.

Its definitely funny how Mav's choked against a team that won the championship and their first game the next season managed to have the worst loss of any previous NBA champion.... by FAR.

    *edit*
