Wearing black: the long standing tradition of ladies not wearing black to a wedding has been overturned. Today, even the bridesmaids might be outfitted in black. Just make sure you don't look like you're attending a funeral. Consider accessorizing that little black dress with a brightly colored scarf or blazer.

If it's a daytime wedding and outside, I suggest not wearing black. I stopped by Macy's last weekend to pick up something from the Clinique counter and made the mistake of looking at dresses. Several of the dresses are 40+ % off. And several of them are wedding appropriate. Whatever you wear, make sure you're comfortable enough in it to sit outside in the hot, hot heat. And can dance in it, of course.

While Coach purses are usually always cute and trendy, everyone and their mother has one (and usually the same one). For designer purses, I prefer Michael Kors, Kate Spade or Marc Jacobs, with MJ totally being out of budget. But who cares.

I usually end up wearing pink to a wedding it seems. It's not too hot in summer and won't draw attention from bride or the usually hideous bridesmaids outfits.
BTW, I went to a bridal expo last Sunday and I was really dissapointed. There was nary a bridezilla to be found! I wanted drama, damnit! And my best friend (the one who is getting married)'s mom decided I needed to sign up for door prizes, which meant I had to be engaged. So my fiance's name is Juan Valdez, he is 35 yrs old and under occupation I put 'coffee grower.'
