    From lequipe.fr :

Pietrus said today that he'd prefer to stay in GS. Ridcharson going to charlotte convinced him and made him hope he could get some more PT.

nice to see the whole free-agentcy so lets see whos out there that can keep this dynasty rolling. we need a solid 5(HArd to find) a 3, so here are some options

    1. Antonio McDyess (re-signed with DET). would be perfect next to Timmy.
    2. Rashard Lewis (signed with ORL)
    3. Gerald Wallace. would be a great steal from the Bobcats a great fit for younger-fusion
    4. Darko Milicic. a great center piece to put next to Timmy, but he would cost to much, signing him tp a low-mid level contract would nice.
    5. Best of the Rest.... Andres Nocioni, Kelenna Azubuike(Very Tallented doesn't get much play time on the bench of Golden State), Mickael Pietrus(a high Flying Frenchman...TEach this man how to shot and play D he will become a perrenal all-star , Matt Barnes...best of the rest are all young and can come off the bench while developing with James White (the baller in #33 - wears the headband)

    Spurs the Breakdown

1(pG) - T.Parker, J.Vaughn, B.Udrih (Drafting Tauren Green would of been SMart..he fell so far...)

    2(SG) - M.Ginobli, M.Finley, J.White, B. Barry, B.Bowen

    3(SF) - B.Bowen, M.Ginobli, J.White, B. Barry

    4(PF) - T. Duncan, R.Horry

    5(C) - F.Elson

Now our squad is pretty damn good, i gotta say, pietrus might just be the best fit for a squad that is already pretty deep.

Not sure by whom yet, but it appears Varejao has been offered an above-MLE deal. Would you pay over MLE for him to be a Spur?
    NO!!

haven't been able to find out anything re: Matt Barnes

Wednesday was the first day teams could sign free agents, and Barnes said he has not received the offers he anticipated. "Right now, there's nothing happening," he said. "I was thinking the midlevel exception was realistic, but my agent has been telling me teams have questioned whether the success I had was because of (Warriors coach Don) Nelson's system and whether or not I could have the same success in another system. Jarrett Jack is available.

You're going to have to do a lot of reading between the lines when it comes to Portland's free-agent signing of Steve Blake, but I think you'll like what you see when you do.

This signing automatically means Jarrett Jack is what league executives call "a mover." The Blazers obviously don't think they can win big with Jack, and I expect he'll be in another uniform by the start of camp

Ersan Ilyasova has signed in europe for €5M/2 years with Barcelona.
He was an interesting prospect and it could be the start of a new trend : with the grow of the BB in europe, europeans teams are now able to steal good nba players.
If it continues like that, we could see in the future MLE players going in europe because they give them more money.

Don't know Bruno. He wasn't exactly a "good" NBA player. He was a prospect, but he wasn't very good with the bucks:
    http://www.82games.com/0607/06MIL12C.HTM

He only has a PER over 15 at SF; where he played only 3% of the minutes available, and his defense was terrible everywhere, for net per's of almost -10 at all positions...If he was/is a diamond in the rough, he needs a lot of polishing.

They clearly offered him more money than anyone in the NBA €5M/2; given 1€ is currently worth 1.37 US$ and Euro contracts are typically given as post-tax values, that's equivalent to a two year contract for 10M US$. I'd say Barcelona overpaid radically. I also suspect that he might have been homesick for a more European lifestyle...

    DOB : 03/15/87.

But you're right, I should have called him a good nba project. It doesn't change that now european teams are able to steal players who could get a $10M/3 years contract in nba.

I would gladly take Jack anytime. So long as we don't have to trade too much.

Who knows... I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the league in 2010. On the other hand we might never hear from him again.

BTW, was he restricted or a UFA. I wonder what would happen if an RFA signed a contract in Europe - Would the NBA team still retain the right to match, as the Euro team would be outside the CBA?

    He was restricted.
RFA works only between nba teams. Ilyasova has signed with Barcelona and Bucks are ed. However, as long as Bucks make a qualifying offer for Ilyasova each summer, Ilyasova will still be a restricted free agent. If Ilyasova wants to come back in nba after his euro contract, Bucks will have the right to match offers he received from nba teams.

Whats up with Melvin Ely, are they spurs signing him or are they letting him go, he is my cousins Neighbour, we walking with his family and we asked how it is going with the spurs, he told us that u had alot of problem understanding the playbook and wanted to go to Phoeinx and would have been better off there, this happened when the spurs were in the First round, and on the same street lives Anthony Carter.

I'll say right now there's 0.5% chance that he's in a Spurs uni next year. And that's a stretch....

If the Spurs end up using a roster spot on a big, it'll probably be Mahinmi...

If the Spurs pull in another big, I think the leading candidate has to be Mahinmi. He's part of the future of this franchise and the Spurs are going to find out what they have in him sooner rather than later.

I'm not sure they do bring in another big, but if they do he's the likeliest one.

I believe the Hornets retain his rights at the moment because of the way he left the league. And they might have interest in him since they just lost 2 bigs (Brandon Bass, Marc Jackson) that they don't seem interested in resigning.

Regardless though, Andersen's skill set includes blocking shots...and thats about it. He can't do much else at all. I'm not really interested.
