But hey...we are in San Antonio...and we don't know what "good" sports radio is, right?
Again, another problem with hiring an idiot from outside of San Antonio. For those that didn't like Chance, Vex, Harris, or Walter, at least they didn't talk about the local news stations.
And what are the chances of Taylor badmouthing KMOL/WOAI-TV more than KSAT, KENS, or KABB?
It's hard to talk bad about this Mike guy. It's like saying something about 9/11 or the war in Iraq people will say your un-American You hate Bush etc...you like to start . The last thing I want is to have to deal with Tpark Mr.Burns and all the salad tossers who have no back bone and kiss ass on a daily basis to try and get ahead in life. Those people look at their bank accounts they don't give a rats ass about anyone in this city. Just like 98% of people elected in this town as city counsel all the way to Mayor. But thats something I have learned to accept.
But the facts are people in San Antonio really have no say in what goes on in this city from how long they keep working on 410 and 1604 all the way to tearing down the convention center to who does and does not do sports radio.
After living in this city for over 35 years I have come to the conclusion San Antonio would have been better off if Mexico would have won the war.

I'd rather have him glowing in November than in June. I'll take glowing in the month in June on the Riverwalk with the trophy.
Its better that he admits he is a Mavs fan than trying to convince us all that he likes the Spurs when he really doesn't.
He admitted to being a Mavs fan, but he now says "we" when referring to Spurs fans. He said before, "I have kids to feed so...GO SPURS GO!"

He said after his first day on the air he is now a Spurs fan where have you been? Why do you think we have been on his ass from the start? He said he will root for what ever team to feed his kids! Pathetic!
i admit, i haven't been able to bring myself to listen for even a single second. is he really that bad? my buddies say they can't listen anymore, not for my sake, but just because he's not entertaining. true?
I keep trying to listen, but it's very difficult. There's a long list of things that bother me, but does it matter?, no.
I can't listen to pre- or post-game anymore, whether on 760 or 1200. I gave it a shot, but it's just awful.
yesterday he was saying he had a 30 minute rant about not putting the xmas tree up early... wtf.

I've posted my comments on Taylor throughout this thread, so feel free to read them. Bottom line: he is not funny at all, serious radio all the time. Then he talks about things SA sports fans already know about: what the Spurs franchise is about, what Pop is about, what local news channel he likes, and now about a Christmas tree?
Sure he know anything and everything about the Dallas Cowboys, but that is only going to work until February. He is a Mavs homer but tries to kiss the Spurs fans' asses.

Alamo...Let me correct you....there was no almost about it! I did drop the FBomb in primetime on GNWU!!!! I coudn't help it. We were talking rock and roll!! And just as point of fact, that was the first of 2 on air f-bombs that slipped. I cant believe you remember that! it was 6 years ago!
Mike Taylor seems like a good guy and knows sports prett well, but he is very boring. I can't seem to listen that much to him. I can only listen for a while and then have to change the station.
so what's the latest Vex? Should we expect you on the radio again?

i can't imagine doing radio again...with all due respect to my former employers, the dismissal left me with a bad taste in my mouth for the industry. there's not enough money in it to justify the hard work, toll on the body, and terribly odd hours.
Say what you will....but Vex has a pretty good outside J...especially when he busts out the AH warmups.
I still have all the ah warmups dating back to like the mid 70's with bell bottom drawers!
