Meanwhile...at least Bonner stopped sucking.
What does Parker/Kidd have to do with this current situation? Parker has proven what he can do, Beno proved to be worthless when it counted. Luckily for Beno the Kings won't sniff the playoffs and he won't be asked to do anything under pressure.
Meanwhile...at least Bonner stopped sucking.
Of course it can. Hope springs eternal. Beno still had talent and was cheap and as it turned out, not too expensive to get rid of.
No... Blanks got fired much later. Maybe Sam Schuler(sp?).
Exactly the same thing? It's charitable to call the two situations "somewhat comparable".They harp on one player for something but not others who do exactly the same thing.
So you're telling me that Pop couldn't make Beno do in three plus years what Reggie Theus did in a week?
Hopefully he can steadily improve.
Tony Parker complained after the Spurs won a le with him as the starting PG...he also took umpteen public lashings from Pop and callouts from David Robinson and everyone else in the process of doing that.
Tony Parker earned his spot...Beno Udrih didn't earn , including the two rings he has on his finger from his time as a Spur.
And you know what? Tony was right...Beno isn't.
Hey Kori...please bookmark this thread for posterity so the idiots will be easy to track down...place it next to the Speedy Claxton threads...thanks.
At least Speedy played good in a finals game.
Idiots that want to put a guy in the HOF over one game...
Tony shouldn't have gone to the press about Kidd, but that's a far cry from blaming your team and coach for all your problems.
Pop never had the "luxury" of having a ty team with no expectations so he could afford to throw someone out there even if they didn't want to be there. Pop had les to defend.
If you think Beno didn't have a shot, then you haven't been watching the past few years.
Why is it funny? You didn't listen to his mul ude of interviews this summer?
Actually, that's plausible. So you're telling me that Pop couldn't make Beno do in three plus years what Reggie Theus did in a week?
It's not hard to imagine Beno feeling stung by the criticisms by Pop, and thinking that he'll turn over a new leaf with his new team. Unfortunately, that burning ambition doesn't last with lazy people.
Take it from me - we can smell our own.
Didn't need to. Bibby is ALWAYS hurt. Tony rarely misses games.
Where is LJ? Getting sloshed so he can do an all-time great Game Thoughts?
We better get used to seeing this thread bumped over and over once Beno gets satisfied with his meager accomplishments and turns back into lazy Beno once again.
Over/Under on how long it takes for Beno to cry to the Slovenian papers that Theus is a racist and hates white european guards?
I'll guess one week after Bibby returns.
He's doing them now.
I'd stay up for that.
I am one hundred percent sure that if Parker had more in common with Beno than ONE incident of going to the media that Spurs fans would harp on him as well.
However, 2 all star games and one finals MVP later and the differences could not be any clearer.
I guess in some twisted ed up place Pluto's ideas are correct, however. Just not in this reality.
We knew everything we needed to know about Beno and this organization long before that signing. How is it that the front office and the head coach didn't? Beno had talent, but he'd worn out his welcome. Any benefit of the doubt he might have had dried up, he was likely never to get a legitimate shot, the relationship was going to devolve, and the Spurs were going to give something up to get rid of him because he wouldn't last the length of the contract.
If you classify being on the floor until you make a mistake a shot, then you might be correct.
Here are mine:
Tony: sucked
Manu: sucked
Tim: sucked
Pop: sucked
You know Tony partied as much as Beno-- often at the same place. No one cared.
You know Tony didn't get fat every offseason.
