Out of Hand Signatures

I was annoyed about sigs a few months ago and wrote a very basic Greasemonkey (Firefox add-on) script to block all the enormous sigs so that if I forget to log in or don't feel like it they still don't show up for me.

I don't think that's it.

Search and sigs are off right now, probably due to the traffic with the game.
Maybe because of server problems.

Search and sigs are always turned off for big games and the playoffs. It helps the site run smoother. Maybe the 10 game win streak has increased traffic.

I'm certain that if Kori decided to remove sigs permanently she would make an announcement.

oooo I marvel at your ability to whip up some code just like that, but doesn't firefox put siggys in a little box with scrollbars anyways?

FF never did that for me. I guess I could go that way too and make the style for sigs have a height with overflow set to auto, but I just wanted them to go away altogether at the time.
