that one SAS-BOS game
just.....ouch on behalf of Elliott
That has to make the end of year NBA blooper reel.
I'm biased against Kobe's MVP consideration, due to Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum. Kobe's a SG who forgets he might NOT be another exception to the Big Man rule, ala Bynum.
The only reason Kobe is the favorite because of the media pull.
Because when you look at how they reverted back to 2007-2006 form, a Kobe led team is always going to be dependent on a good-to elite franchise level big man. And they have that now in the combination of Bynum and Pau Gasol.
Kobe by next year could even realize how dependent he is on Bynum and how he'll forever be Robin to Shaq, and now Bynum's Batman.
I personally, think CP should win it over Kobe who's 53 points can't contribute to a win against a Memphis team.
Yesterday, Kobe almost lost the game to the wizards trying to be the hero and missing two forced shots.

I have to admit most of the Boston/Suns/Mav fans on this board are pretty cool and reasonable. That one Piston dude is cool too. I just can't stand the Spurs fans![]()

"There's a guy named Oden waitin' on ya!" lol please
Interesting point, seeing as how badly LAL has been playing over the last few games. Yeah, they got the win against Washington, but it took them an OT on their home floor to pull it off. Also, the loss to Memphis must've stung.
I still think Kobe deserves it because he is playing at such a high level while playing with a system that requires virtually everyone on the court to touch the ball. Whereas Lebron is allowed to do whatever he wants with iso after iso, though his stats are awfully impressive this season.
However, if NO finishes with the #1 seed, I think Chris Paul will (obviously) get it.
Elliott's homerism, makes up for the Homerism we Spurs fans have to put up with...usually it's fun and good payback. But that Boston game was really bad.![]()
I think Kobe may have been more deserving last year, because he started to make attempts to play within the system. But their record was too low.
But this year his team's bench is really deep. With the addition of Fisher's leadership, and young players coming into their own, (Sasha, Farmar) I've seen Kobe benefiting from his team's play.
But I'm biased against Kobe winning it this year, after his tirade and calling out Bynum. He's due for an MVP anyway, so he'll have to win it sometime.
Well, the game was a blowout at halftime, and it ended up as a blowout. No surprises here.![]()
Any idea when you will be joining us in 2008?
If I remember right the 1 was because Amare got a block on Timmy and an offensive rebound away from Ginobili at the end of the game. He was barly 19 when he got into the league. He is still improving and has shown a lot this season.
Gary Bender (Suns FSN-AZ play by play) is the worst.
Not that he is a homer, he is just senile or something. We have a drinking game where we take a drink when he makes a wrong call. Good way to get hammered by halftime.
Gary Bender worse than Tom Leander? Are you kidding me??
On second thought, though...Gary Bender is really ing bad. You might have a point. Dan Majerle is a minor homer, but at least he's a funny guy. Eddie Johnson is a fantastic color commentator.
for the most part, the only announcer i really like is al mccoy, wish he still did the tv broadcast. i think most suns fans hate the others. majerle and ej are somewhat homerish, but they're color guys, that's pretty much their job. they're funny to listen to at times though, especially majerle.. most of the times you'd think he was drinking a beer while announcing. bender and leander are horrible though. or. as ej would say. just tirrble.. just tirrble.
Leander is annoying, Bender is just bad.
Majerle and EJ are hilarious. EJ is my favorite.
Amare isn't an MVP candidate. but..........thats an ignorant statement dude.
Stoudemire has been playing out of position for years. He's not stuck playing the 5 against other 5's every night anymore. Thus...he's been dominating since Shaq arrived. In the paint, from the perimeter, and from the FT line.
Needless to say,his D & rebounding are not yet MVP caliber.
I can only hope the SUNS get a shot at you guys again this year. The SPURS aren't the bad matchup anymore.
The Suns held Denver to six total rebounds in the entire second half.
Camby had 4 rebounds for the game.
Stoudamire should dominate offensively, and get to the line a lot with Shaq. But if Stoudamire wants to compete with the KG's and TD's, then he can't really use that out of position card to excuse his defense altogether.
I don't know if either team outmatches the other, but if the Spurs meet the Suns in the playoffs it'll be a of a series.
Notice how KG and TD almost ALWAYS play with a center. Now imagine them not doing that for the last 4 years. Idiot.
TD's playing with the same center that Amare played with last year.
Can't believe you buy that excuse for Amare being a poor defender.
He hasn't developed like KG and TD because he isn't that smart!
Four years without a true center maybe an excuse for lack of defensive help as the "lone big", but not when you're not showing any signs of development with your own Defense. The dude's still racks up fouls rapidly, because he's so clueless on defense even with Shaq taking pressure off of him.

Yeah the same center that got limited PT due to D'Antoni's ing obsession with smallball.

the Suns fans came out the woodwork tonight! You guys are like little bees, come buzzing around when you're winning but when the losses start piling on you are nowhere to be found. we may even see the return of da_suns_fan........
The Suns have been winning consistently for the last three or four weeks. I think it's merely a coincidence that a lot of Suns fans showed up tonight.
Newsflash: Amare had microfracture knee surgery. He'll never be the same player he was before. Player of the week is out of the question, let alone MVP.
Also, Suns have no interior presence, no rebounding, no D, and no ability to play a half-court game. That amounts to early playoff exit, just like the last 3 seasons.
