It's striking that the scheme to overturn the election started before the election was even over, but not surprising. Trump had been complaining about a rigged election for months; Steve Bannon also telegraphed the strategy well beforehand.
Rick Perry was another person who suggested before all the votes were in, that GOP controlled legislatures in swing states appoint bespoke electors rather than following the law.
