To think this whole thing started because the Thunder paid Kendrick Perkins.
They traded away Green & harden, lol.

With Milwaukee opting to sign Mayo (and loaded with other SFs/Stretch Forwards - Mbah a Moute, Ilyasova, Daniels), Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento (and even Detroit) in rebuilding mode; Dallas already having Marion & Carter; Cleveland drafting Bennett already..

I think Atlanta is the only contender with the Spurs for Kirilenko if we consider that only cap space having teams are going to contend for him. IMO.
Lets scratch Atlanta from the list too.. They have signed Millsap on a 2 year deal.

The whole thing started when OKC ownership and Presti were too stupid to appreciate what they had and pay the tax like the Spurs had been doing. Harden had agreed to a less than 5-year max, and agreed to keep his role off the bench. But OKC was too damn cheap. And OKC doesn't even have to pay off the St Louis Spirits every year like the Spurs and the other ABA teams.

If the Thunder couldn't afford to pay the tax for a winner, maybe their s bag owners shouldn't have moved to as small a market as possible to limit their financial resources.

Sam Presti is a of a GM.

He built the Thunder. Then tore 'em down and built the Rockets.

    Props.
Don't forget he traded Green for Perkins

And they traded him, for pennies on the dollar, a year before they would have been subject to the tax. They could have made one more run in 2012-13 and then traded him this summer.

Presti's a decent GM, but he's wildly overrated, especially here.

Cleveland is probably the one to watch out of the ones you listed. He could help and they could offer a nice contract but do they really want to give him a multi-year deal?

DeMarre Carroll is another SF for the Hawks, so even less reason for them to sign AK.

So, Dwight actually was just doing the decent thing and informing the Lakers face to face.
Yup, many people owe him an apology. He didn't waiver at all. Broussard is just a moron with 0 credibility.

Also, why would ATL sign Millsap, when they could trade for ASIK? 2YR/19M is a solid contract too, that was Spurs range..

I guess even lesser than pennies. They got a year of Kevin Martin, who bolted this year; a new prospect in Jeremy Lamb, who barely played; and Toronto's first rounder, a number 12 pick which they used on a Kiwi named Steve Adams.

In sum, they sold James Harden for Steve Adams and Jeremy Lamb.

    Wow, Presti. ..

and Thanks so much, Presti, signed Spurs' & Rockets' fans.

This Lakers franchise is in shambles. Buss is dead. They just fielded one of the most underachieving teams in NBA history only to be outdone by suffering one of the largest free agent slaps in the face in NBA history. Their "star" is injured and no one knows how good he can be again, they don't have really any means of improving this year and they don't seem to have the gumption to make basketball decisions for the good of the franchise at the moment (*cough*amnesty*cough*).

    Wow.
