To me, Jamal would be a bad risk.

One, he's about washed up, not making shots anymore and getting even worse on defense.

Two, he'll probably block the progress and minutes of Derrick White

Three, if Pop eventually benches Crawford for being washed up, he's right there to poison Dejounte with talk about how disrespectful the team is, how bad they treat players, Kawhi was right, watch yourself, etc etc. Never forget 'classy' Micheal Finley, who tanked until he was given the starter job and was given the 07 winning game ball iirc. What did classy Finley do the minute Pop finally realized he was washed and benched him and took his minutes down to nothing, about two years later than he should? Finley immediately asked for release so he could join a 'contender'. He was a class fraud

Similar risk with Crawford considering how much Dejounte looks up to him.

Coaching intern? Yes. Player? No. Regardless of Manu.

All of that PLUS the Spurs need a SF not another SG.

IF Crawford is a potential signing by SAS, I have mixed feelings about this. Yeah, he may not have anything left in the tank, but more importantly, he doesn't fit the bill for the glaring need, which is the 3 position. Perhaps he can have a resurgence in his twilight career, playing alongside Murray, whom I'm sure that he would love and benefit from playing next to his idol. But the BIG question is: would either Crawford or Manu, or both, have a big impact on the player development of the younger players from a negative standpoint? Oh yeah, retaining Ginobili or signing Crawford for the vet minimum, on one hand, would secure needed veteran leadership on the bench and in the locker room, but again, what about the SF position and playing time for the younger players? Since SAS may have already maxed out its salary cap, the only thing I believe is available is vet minimum deals, rookie salaries, and two-way contracts, let alone, the roster spots are just about completely filled up. SAS needs a SF who can defend and possibly score. So, who is available out there who is "Spursiy enough;" knows the system and can be had for the cheap, cause for one, this organization is very frugal, and secondly, they are too loyal to trade. But right now, I believe that the decision making outcome is hinging on Ginobili's decision, and at the end of the day, I can see SAS possibly making their decision by keeping it "in house" by signing someone like Blossomgame to a rookie deal or to a two-way contract. But once Manu's decision has been made, then I think that SAS will move forward with who will be invited/available for preseason training camp and beyond. Time will tell, but GSG!!!

I think I read that crawford was the worst player in the league last year in a certain minute category. Plus I think we have enough offense options and we need more dependable defenders with size, ie SF. Unfortunately, there is nothing left, and whoever the Spurs wan to get now will be the 15th of even 17th player. May as well just stick with Hillard. The only reasonable trade target that spurs could swap Mills with is Harkless. And although this is an upgrade in a position of need, its a downgrade in a player to player swap. For it to happen, Murray, white, Walker and Forbes all would need to be playing well enough to just dump Mills without giving up a pick. Porter from Washington could be had. I think the Wizards may part with him due to the bloated contract.

Just thinking about signing crawford is a complete joke, he is everything the team does not need, so I really believe there's a chance he'll play for SA in the next season.

I wish we had interest in Corey Brewer. He doesn’t provide everything we need(His 3pt shot is pretty terrible). But he’s a smart vet with length. Good spark plug off the bench, can be utilized as a SF/PF in Small Ball lineups, and can give you 15 minutes of above average defense.

Hmmm... after reading articles on Crawford on Bleacher Report and Hoops Hype, he's interested in joining the 76ers. Says that he likes Brett Brown, Embiid, Simmons, and has ties with Fultz (University of Washington alums) and of course, JJ Red , in whom they were teammates when they played for the Clippers. Now, according to Hoops Hype, Crawford didn't like playing 20 minutes a game in Minnesota. DUH!!! What does he expect to play, minutes wise, if he were to play for the 76ers, or the Spurs, let's say, or let alone, for any other team. Come on, the dude is like 37 years old, and he wants to play like 3 more years, lol! Yeah, he gives you instant offense, and can create his own shots, and plays off the dribble, but that's it. All I can say about him is... MEH. .. But I didn't see any rumors of mutual interest of SAS, and Crawford, other than what the pundits feel what would be his best fit. But, if he were to sign with the Spurs, I won't be surprised, but a bit disappointed though. We'll see. .. GSG!!!

Why haven’t we signed Metu yet? What’s the hold up, and I really hope we win to Jaron to a two way contract at least.

Solid take. Every minute he took would hinder White's production.

Sad Manu is gone so we really have a need at SF!! So our team is at 13 with two open roster spots and two open two way G League contracts. The next couple of weeks are going to be interesting hopefully will see Hanga, ND, and Nikola invites to summer camp.

Does Manu get stretched? It might make sense for this season with them being so close to the tax.

Waiving Paul and replacing him with two rookies would keep the team pretty comfortably away from the tax. That's even more true if Cun's contract is for the min rather than the remainder of the MLE.
