after a long period on the shelf after HBO settled with the estate of Michael Jackson in 2019, the do entary "Leaving Neverland" will premiere in the UK
(not having had to date any apparent adverse effect on MJ's popularity)
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/mo...ed-1236571986/What about this notion that after your movie came out, if one thought logically, the movie should have taken Jackson down. But in fact his popularity rose after your movie, and streaming numbers on Jackson’s music rose and they only continue to grow. Since then, we’ve had the MJ Broadway musical, which is a huge hit and tours. So what does that say?
It says that people don’t care that he was a child molester. Literally, people just don’t care.
None of the allegations in Leaving Neverland have been seriously challenged, right?
So I’m not at all surprised that all the death threats and all of that is just part and parcel of the nature of Michael Jackson worship. These are not people who simply enjoy listening to a Michael Jackson track now and again. They’re convinced that he was this pure, godlike figure, a sort of transcendent, childlike genius who had no sexual iden y and was somehow very pure, and they identify with that.
My film was about these two young men who, unfortunately, had their childhood ruined by a predatory pedophile who began to have sex with Wade when he was seven and with James when he was 10. Seems to me that’s a pretty distasteful thing to keep in your mind while you’re listening to “Billie Jean.”
Republican Reps mostly open to granting lenience to Ghislaine Maxwell
https://www.forbes.com/sites/sarador...t-be-pardoned/Forbes contacted the offices of all 25 rank-and-file GOP members of the committee asking if they support a pardon, and six—Reps. Pete Sessions, R-Texas, William Timmons, R-S.C., Nick Langworthy, R-N.Y., Nancy Mace, R-S.C., Clay Higgins, R-La., and Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla.—replied to say they are against it.
Rep. John McGuire’s, R-Va., office declined to comment, and at least two other members, Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., and Committee Chair Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., have said previously they’re against a pardon.
The Oversight Committee is conducting a probe into Epstein and earlier this year interviewed Maxwell, who repeatedly pleaded the fifth; the committee doesn’t have pardoning power, but could pressure Trump to grant Maxwell some leniency.
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/mu...ng-1236577460/In another win for a non-franchise le, Antoine Fuqua’s Michael Jackson biopic pulled off a moon walk for the ages at the worldwide box office with a record-smashing $97 million domestic opening and $120.4 million foreign launch for a global blast-off of $217.4 million.
Michael, coming in nearly $30 million ahead of expectations in North America, now boasts the biggest domestic opening of all time for a biopic after passing up Oppenheimer ($80 million). Globally, it ranks as the top opening for a music biopic after stealing the show from Straight Outta Compton ($60.1 million) and Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody ($55 million), not adjusted for inflation.
If this had been Biden, the Trump s of the world like tsa would have been screeching "CONSPIRACY"
Trump to King Charles: o Your Majesty, I have very fond memories of raping children alongside your brother, Andrew. And I admire how you bear responsibility for your wife’s death. It’s a pleasure to be here.
BOP punishes inmates who spoke to press about Ghislaine Maxwell's perks and preferential treatment
https://www.cnn.com/2026/05/07/us/vi...cial-treatmentMultiple women serving sentences for nonviolent crimes at the minimum security prison where Ghislaine Maxwell is now serving time were punished for speaking to reporters about the special treatment Maxwell receives. At least two women were transferred to higher security facilities as punishment.
https://www.politico.com/news/2026/0...stein-00908865For reasons he said were “inexplicable,” Howard Lutnick acknowledged visiting Jeffrey Epstein’s island seven years after he claimed to have severed his relationship with the convicted sex offender, according to lawmakers present for the Commerce Secretary’s closed-door testimony Wednesday.
Lutnick was literally Epstein's next door neighbor in Manhattan
Committee Democrats told reporters that Lutnick ultimately could not explain why he went to Epstein’s island, with Ansari saying the Cabinet official described the decision as “inexplicable” and that their interactions were “meaningless” and “inconsequential.”
Lutnick also said he and Epstein met in 2011 to discuss renovations on Epstein’s home in Manhattan and that he never saw Epstein engage in inappropriate conduct with young women, the person familiar with the interview said.
I think it's great that Trump is circling back to this
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...-b2984946.htmlPresident Donald Trump is planning to go back to court as part of his demand for $10 billion from The Wall Street Journal over its explosive reporting tying him to sex predator Jeffrey Epstein.
The president on Wednesday refiled his defamation lawsuit against the Rupert Murdoch-owned paper after a federal judge earlier this year tossed out his first complaint for legal flaws.
Trump claims the Journal smeared him by publishing a story about an alleged birthday card sent to Epstein that supposedly bore Trump’s signature — a card Trump insists is completely fake, despite lawmakers later releasing it during their Epstein investigation.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Miami, accuses the newspaper and its top brass of knowingly pushing false claims that caused “overwhelming” damage to Trump’s reputation and finances.
