    Frank Shamrock gold...

Stolen from bloody elbow who stole it from someone else who stole it from someone else.....etc.......

On Shamrock vs Kimbo, and potential Shamrock vs Shamrock:

'I know that Ken has ten times the skills that Kimbo has, but can he put it together at this age with this many injuries, and you know with the way life is - it's always the big question. So honestly I don't know. I hope he smashes him and then we set up a fantastic PPV with him and I. You never know.'

    On Chuck Liddel getting KO:

'I don't watch the UFC, so I didn't see it, but I'm a huge Chuck Liddel fan. It sounds to me like it was lazy boxing and he got caught. Which he's always doing lazy boxing, and a couple guys stay in the pocket, they aren't scared, and they throw straight punches, and he just fell victim to that.'

    On UFC:

'I built that whole company. ... I was the first middleweight champion and I set a couple of world records there for them.'

'There are a lot of problems with the sport. One of them is the monopoly that the UFC holds on it, so I made a tough call. And that was, do I join the monopoly, and give my brand and my dream over to these people who I know don't care, or do I follow my dream? I decided to follow my dream.'

'They don't tell the truth, they tell what makes the most amount of money. They don't support the sport,, they do what makes the most amount of money.'

On Dana White ('that bald headed dude', as the host put it):

'I've never not gotten along with him, I just don't think he's a good representative of MMA. I don't think the promoter should try to be a star, and I don't think that you need to curse and wear skin tight shirts and be a weirdo when you're the lead face of MMA.'

    On Kimbo:

'I like him. He's got a great look, a great persona, he goes out and fights - that's what it's all about. In the beginning I didn't know who he was, I thought he was a complete idiot. I realized, people like him because he's just your regular street thug type dude who went for it, and he made it there. He's got your little American dream story. '

Evan did you ever see, the UFC 65 DVD when Tim fought Jeff Monson?? It was hilarious in the behind the scenes. Tim went on and on for 20 min about how Monson because he is only like 5'9 is such an easy fight for him, that he'll KO him in Round 1, he had ZERO respect for the guy whatsoever. He must have said the fight will be "Easy" like 15 times. Then as you know he goes out there and stinks it up for 5 rds, barely throwing a hard shot, doing just enough to win most of the rounds getting boo'd all the way through. When it was over, he says to everyone that "Oh yeah we all knew it would be hard to KO him, because he was going to try and take me down so much"

LOL, Tim was hilarious to me in the UFC. The fans hated him and he always stuck his foot in his mouth to boot.

Oh I agree....I genuinely thought it was a funny line.

QUICK AND RANDOM THOUGHTS from Rich Franklin on diet, training, lifting, fitness, fighting tips and whatever else comes to mind...

    DO FIGHT CLUBS REALLY EXIST?

People still talk about the 1999 cult classic, Fight Club, starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. This drama is about two young guys who start an underground place where bare-fisted combat takes place. The movie continues to appeal to some, it still generates buzz. (It also offers us the memorable line, “This is your life and it’s ending one minute at a time.”)

Do fight clubs really exist? I’ve been asked and I say I really don’t know. Likely, if there’s money to be minted, they must exist somewhere.

If I ever happen upon one I’ll bolt in the opposite direction – of that I’m sure. Even bars have more illegal violence than I care to be around. I don’t need to have my career in jeopardy at a crazy fight club with no rules, referees or law enforcement. That’s not sport.

If fight clubs really are around, the fighters and spectators must know what they’re getting into. Hollywood cannot be fairly blamed for causing any raw violence, because people know right from wrong. Responsibility flows out of that awareness – and most everyone accepts this. A teaspoon of sense is all it takes.

    Can't blame vera

Felipe Maurer de Barros: How many fights do you still have in your UFC contract?

Brandon Vera: After this fight with Keith Jardine I will have one more fight with the UFC.

Felipe Maurer de Barros: Which fighter would you like to face in the light heavyweight division and why?

Brandon Vera: There are so many good fighters in the light heavyweight division that are phenomenal (and) I will probably have to face them all some day.

Felipe Maurer de Barros: Who are you training with these days?

Brandon Vera: I train with a whole slew of guys. Dominic Cruz, Gary Padillia, to Gator Man “Jacare,” Rampage Jackson, Tim Carpenter, Cain Velasquez… the list goes on and on.

Felipe Maurer de Barros: Talk about your loss to Fabrício Werdum? Do you still want a rematch?

Brandon Vera: I’m still upset about that fight and I can’t wait to get that avenged.

Felipe Maurer de Barros: Could you explain us what really happened about your proposed fight against Lyoto Machida? Did you really deny the fight against him or it was a misunderstanding?

Brandon Vera: I said that I did not want to fight Lyoto Machia on short notice. For a fighter like him I need to study his gameplan and be ready for that fight. I didn’t want to take it on three and a half weeks notice.

    Don Frye Gold...

On being sober and resuming his career

Frye certainly wouldn't be the oldest compe or in elite-level MMA. UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture has single-handedly rewritten the books on what can be accomplished by a fighter that most would deem over the hill.

Frye also wouldn't be the first legend to wander into relative obscurity before making a return to the sport's highest level. With UFC 93's recent addition of 43-year-old Mark Coleman's , the door has been opened for other pioneers of the sport to return.

But don't expect Frye to follow precisely in Coleman's footsteps.

"For some reason (UFC President) Dana White doesn't like me, and I don't care enough to find out why," Frye said. "So he can go pound sand up his ass as far as I'm concerned."

Instead Frye, a veteran of the UFC, PRIDE, K-1, DEEP and King of the Cage, will focus on alternate paths to the MMA forefront as he plays out the remainder of his 12-year career.

"I've got about two years left," Frye said. "Eventually I'll get my head out of my ass and make another run at it."

And never one for self-censoring, Frye said he won't limit his options -- with one notable exception.

"I'm a ," Frye admitted. "It's all about the money. I'll fight for anybody but the UFC."

I am sure Sylvia is heavily tied to adrenaline for his next fight...curious to see if they ever do a show again.

Rumor has Josh vs Fedor next fight but I am sure Fedor is all about NYE with DREAM 7 and no way does Fedor do two fights within a few weeks of each other.

Rashad Evans can suck my mother ing !

Listen: So a New Mexico based show called my gym last Thursday talking about they need someone to fight Rashad's brother at 205 in TWO days. Our boy Frank Lester, who fights at 185, is out of shape, but says he'll do it cuz he's broke as a joke...lol Soooo the next morning he's on a plane to NM. He weighs in at 192 to fight a bigger, stronger, in shape, light heavyweight.

Fight day comes and Frank's super nervous...he's knows he's not well prepared, knows he's smaller, knows he was brought there to lose, and to top it all off he's a fan of Rashad Evans and it's a bit intimidating to have him in the opposing corner.

Anyway the fight kicks off and within the first minute Frank gets dropped and grounded and pounded...some how he manages to survive and starts to turn the tide a bit. The first round ends and in the corner Wade tells him to just go out there and go for it....swing for the fences.

Round two starts and Frank comes out aggressive, he stops Evans' shots and ends up dropping him with a knee and as he is getting up pins him against the fans and bashed him with punches until Evans' VERBALLY QUIT!!

So Frank is super happy and backstage he goes up to Evans and says good job/good fight and Evans says the same. Then Frank walks up to Rashad and tells him its an honor to meet him and tries to shake his hand....Rashad looked him up and down....made a stupid lil noise with his mouth....turned around and walked away.

Go cry Rashad...sorry your bro couldn't beat a guy who took a fight on two days notice, who was out of shape and was like 20 pounds lighter. You might be a great fighter but that's no reason to treat the guys under you like punks. Suck a cool guy.

Funny thing about me and the Mavs...

I was a very big Mavericks fan when they were complete garbage up until they embarrassed the entire league by their Heat meltdown. I'm not sure what happened but my interest has been on a steady decline since then until now which is close to nothing.

Either my interests just naturally changed as they do for people over time or that loss just sucked the NBA life out of me.

Basically just NFL, MMA, EPL for me nowadays with NHL taking up the rear. In that order.
