Isn't it Mexico what is causing a lot of troubles to the Latin soccer teams?
Why Argentina was playing so narrow?
Scaloni needs to get the out! he's not worth the shoes he's playing in!

Congratulations on the win... so far it's one of the top 3 games of the tournament....
Damn.... what a goal.
I think it was the best game of the tournament so far with the best goal of the tourney so far. Germany and Argentina should be ing sweet.
I will be pulling for the Manus!
Great another 90/120 mins of pure agony next week!
Great game, it will take more than that to get through Germany
Bright spots (up'n coming players) for Mexico...
Andres Guardado... only 19 years old.
Carlos Salcido... played a flawless tourney as left defensive back.
Juan Osorio... the dude has speed...
And none of these guys play in the european leagues....
Beacuse you got the emotions.
But take the emotions add the drama (some red cards ssome penalties). wow excitment you don't even know.
You can get hard on and stuff.......
Mexico scared the living daylights out of me man!up to that last goal, I was in sheer agony!
I had them losing so it was just a matter of time.... If they had won... then I would have been surprised.
Kind of sucks Guardado got hurt so early in the second half... we lost speed in our midfield when that happened.
Of course nothing like what happened to Michael Owen... that one even hurt me.... what a shame.
Hegamboa, I think you have to give some credit to Lavolpe for putting together a team like this. If Mexico keeps playing like this... scary!
Now, imagine if Blanco had played....
It's hard to give credit to a coach who told the Argentine press a couple months ago that Mexico had no world class players...
could I get the context of that quote? I believe you, I just want to see how the conversation went
Wow.
That game was a disaster. Argentina is very lucky to have won that game, it could have gone either way.
They did so many stupid plays, it was incredible...at some points they just looked aweful, the defense was pathetic. I think Argentina's midfield was very weak. They are not gonna get past Germany playing like they did today, so with that said, they better in step it up!!!
I am questiong Jose Pekerman in putting in Scaloni instead of Coloccini for the injured Burdisso....Scaloni was aweful, the er looks clueless and he made more mistakes than the Mexican team combined. Leave Coloccini, he played well against the Netherlands, and there's no point of bringing in some scrub that hasn't played in the World Cup yet for an elimination game.
I think Argentina should start Messi + Tevez, just to get quick goals. Those two guys are scoring machines, they will get you the goals. Not to take anything away from Crespo, but I like these guys better. Maybe Messi + Crespo, then Tevez as a last resort.
Messi played great today, you can just see how in good that guy is and how good he will be. He will retire as a legend, mark my words, this guy is the complete striker.
Carlos Tevez played like an idiot today. He has crazy skills, but he is abusing them. He's playing as if he were AI in the NBA...he thinks he can get by everyone, and sometimes he can, but you gotta in pass, or take the shot on goal earlier.
Is it me, or does Tevez always wait til the last moment to shoot, and ends up not getting a shot on goal at all???? He tries to penetrate all the way in when he has a clear shot... Whatever, I just hope he plays better vs. Germany, if he plays that is.
And thank God for Maxi Rodriguez, that goal was crazy. I was NOT expecting that.
Are you just copying your phrases and pasteing them from one thread to another?
You've heard that some consequences will be waiting for the referees of the Australia- Croiatia game?
Today games:
England - Ecuador 2-0
Portugal - Netherland 2-1
A little fluff story to pass the time.
2006 FIFA WORLD CUP: 'You feel powerless in front of the telly!'
Tony Parker, professional basketball player
After training at INSEP in the Paris region, Tony started out as a professional with Paris Basket Racing (in which he is now the chief shareholder). In 2001, he penned a deal with San Antonio Spurs and set out to conquer the west of America. The first Frenchman to win the NBA le (in 2003 and 2005), the youngest first-choice playmaker in the NBA’s history, the first Frenchman selected for the All-Star Game this year… At only 24 years of age, Tony Parker is collecting one record after another. A bronze medallist with France at Euro 2005 in Serbia and Montenegro, he is the shining star of his national team.
Where did you watch the match?
I’m on holiday in Los Angeles at the moment, but I wouldn’t have missed the France-Togo game for anything in the world. As you can imagine, I was getting quite tense there in front of the television. The atmosphere was really electric. It’s a lot less stressful to be on the pitch than in front of the TV, as you feel so powerless. You just have to grin and bear it because everything’s out of your control. I was confident before the game, but when we missed so many chances during the first half, I was afraid that the same thing could continue right up to the final whistle. In the end, everything worked out fine and we’re through to the last sixteen. That’s what really counts.
Did the final score reflect the match you watched?
If we’d been a bit more clinical in the first half, we could have wrapped things up a lot earlier. But the lads never panicked. They controlled the match really well, and when they came back out after the interval, you could see that their desire was undiminished. So it was no real surprise when Patrick Vieira opened the scoring with a fine shot on the turn, followed by the second goal that clearly meant so much to my pal Thierry Henry. Vieira was quite rightly named Man of the Match as he was absolutely everywhere: winning the ball, starting off moves and getting on the end of them too. The entire French team should be proud of themselves, as they put in a very good all-round performance. Now, it’s time to start thinking about Spain. I’m confident about the game, as France have finally kick-started their World cup campaign.
From what you’ve seen of the tournament so far, which team has struck you as most impressive?
Argentina look awesome. They play really good football from a technical perspective, and they all seem to have great touch and individual ability. But I’m not writing off Germany either. Playing at home is a massive advantage, as the whole country is behind the team. Throughout World Cup history, we’ve seen how the host nation invariably goes quite far in the tournament. As for Brazil, they’re a team that’s growing in power and anyone who underestimates them will do so at their peril. With the likes of Ronaldhino, Robinho, Kaka, Ronaldo and Adriano in their side, they’re always going to be a force to be reckoned with. But as France are going to play them in the quarter-final, that will be the end of their tournament this time. (Laughs)
Who do you expect to see in the final four?
It’s impossible to pick out four teams at the moment, so I’ll mention Germany, Brazil, France, Argentina, Italy and England. As you can see, I’m not exactly a risk-taker. (Laughs)
How important is football to you?
Actually, I was a footballer before I took up basketball. I used to play up front, and although I gave it up quite early to concentrate on basketball, I remained a big football fan. As a European, that’s pretty much par for the course, as football is the number one sport. I moved to America five years ago, but I try to watch as many games as possible on television, and if there’s a game I’m interested in that’s not being shown, I go online to find out the result.
What club do you generally support and why?
I support two clubs: Arsenal and PSG. Why Arsenal? Because my friend Thierry Henry plays for them. I was lucky enough to meet him a few years ago and we hit it off straight away. We both quickly realised that we have the same way of looking at tings, so we understand each other effortlessly. Whenever my schedule allows it, I head off to London to watch “ i” play. I always find a way of getting to at least one match over the summer, although it’s going to be a bit trickier this year as I’ll be involved in the Basketball World Championship in Japan in August. Also, I’ve got a special place in my heart for PSG as it’s the club I grew up with. When I was playing for Paris Basket Racing, I used to go to the Parc des Princes all the time. I have to say, I’m a bit nostalgic for our glory days of the 90s, but I’m hopeful our time will come again.
Is there a particular charity you support?
I support several causes, including my friend Boris Diaw’s association. All the information will soon be on my website, www.tp9.net./
Your projects?
I’m currently on holiday relaxing before heading off to Japan in August with les Bleus for our own World Cup, the FIBA World Championship which starts on 19 August.
England dominating so far in the first 10 minutes
He ing Missed It!!!!! Nooooooo!
Spanish color guy is complaining about the refs... I'm guessing he's from Ecuador![]()
