Well, I follow the NBA beyond the Spurs as well.

Hawes is horrible, sorry Ruff..he's one of the softest big men in the NBA..he's a horrible 1 on 1 defensive player, he can't produce consistent inside..his only positives is that he has range, and he's a good passer..

he should never be doing this to a good team..

Hawes is soft, sure, but he's not horrible. He can shoot, and he has some low-post moves. Is he ever going to be a tough-nosed defender, probably not, but he could be another Brad Miller in a few years.

OTOH, Thompson is not soft and might turn out to be an Al Horford clone.
