What a punch of asses. So dirk gets teeth embedded in his elbow and it takes a doctor over an hour to dig out all of the teeth fragments. He's on pain meds for two days and tried to go tonight but would have needed a pain-killing-shot to do it.

Dallas Mavericks' Nowitzki says his return should be soon

To hear Nowitzki explain what happened after the collision, which left multiple tooth fragments in his elbow, is enough to make you choke on your Cheerios.

"The doctor has, [what seemed] like, his whole hand in my elbow trying to take out stuff," Nowitzki said. "It wasn't pretty. We washed it out for like an hour. The worst thing you can get is an infection in your elbow and have surgery. We definitely didn't want that. Washed it out and closed it up, took the X-ray, saw some more stuff. Went back in there, opened it up, washed it out some more, and then finally closed it up after a couple hours."

Nowitzki, who was in touch with Landry on Sunday via text messaging, said the injury was the result of a "messed-up play." But the best news was that after a Saturday filled with pain-killing medication, Nowitzki was much improved Sunday.

He actually thought about playing before the game, taking some jumpers, but quickly realizing it wasn't going to happen.

"I just couldn't extend the elbow out and couldn't really bend it," he said. "It just didn't make sense. But looking at the game now, it was a great decision. We got the win and I got a little rest."

And as for Tuesday, he said he's on "every pill there is and I'd love to play, but if not Tuesday, then definitely on the 26th."

Rockets forward Carl Landry underwent nearly five hours of dental procedures Saturday morning and early afternoon and was ruled out of Saturday's game following his violent collision with Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki, damaging five of Landry's teeth.
“They seemed to think by next week he should be fine,” coach Rick Adelman said.
Landry needed a root canal and two dental bridges. It was the third time he has lost teeth in his three NBA seasons, having lost one tooth in a collision with Utah's Carlos Boozer and another when running into former teammate Dikembe Mutombo.

Honestly i suggest you brag about it a little bit while you can. Even with their main structure old and Jefferson lame, the Spurs are still a power in west that we should never look down upon. The fragmented start for Spurs this season were majorly the consequences of injuries that occurred on some of their pivots, and honestly i believe you're also aware what the Spurs really are since you are one of the meager handful of decent posters on Spurstalk, despite your louche humors featuring "f r, f".

We've had the hardest start in the league, coupled with ridiculous amounts of b2b games. We've had it worse in this league, so don't attempt to play it down like we are the league's favorite pets. We've won every game with hustle and effort, including the one in Dallas.
