Those stats do absolutely nothing for your argument. Not every single foul comes right at the rim. A lot of fouls for guards come on the perimeter from blowing past your man and getting held. Truth is, Kevin Martin has a quicker first step than Kobe, which allows him to draw more fouls. Guards with size and quick first steps are probably the types of players are are most susceptible to foul. D-Wade has possibly the quickest first step ever, and that allows him to constantly get to the line. MJ had an explosive first step. Lebron's first step is ridiculous too.

Most people, even the biggest of Kobe fans, knows that he settles for jumpers wayyyy too much, which may be his biggest weakness as a basketball player (not saying its a massive weakness, as he has very few weaknesses which makes him such a great player, but out of the few he has, its arguably his biggest)
how old is Kobe compared to those cats you listed?

Yes, let's disregard the stats and make excuses instead.

if Kobe doesnt go to the FT line as much...why is it still referee favoritsm? I dont get that logic at all.

KROFL @ the butthurtedness of this post.

all i was saying is that the other guys are at this point, more able to draw fouls due to an advantage they have in athleticism. when kobe was their age, he was shooting around 10 fts a game as well. I still think Kobe is in the top 3 along with Bron and Wade (I think they are all pretty much tied for the top spot, but they all accel in different ways - Kobe is the most skilled, Wade is the most aggressive, and Bron is the most gifted)

I say let him have long jumpers, but if he gets picks or drives, double him immediately and force the ball out of his hands. Just whatever you do, don't let him get inside and either get an easy bucket, or create for others. Mavs did that extremely well the last time they played.

Because your stats were incredibly flawed in regards to your argument, but you are too stupid to realize it.

Dumb as usual just making excuses now.

Kobe shoots more at the rim but Kevin friggin Martin gets more free throws?

Most of Dirk's shots are from the outside, yet he's only shooting .1 less free throws per game than Kobe.

Yet Kobe is the one getting this supposed "favoritism"....real logical

You get stupider by the second, I swear.

I never was saying that he gets favoritism (although he definitely used to in the past... when he was also more aggressive of a player, and when he decides to be aggressive, he gets as many ticky-tack fouls called for him as anyone in the league). But you, along with other moron Lakerfans almost seem to believe that he doesnt get enough calls. All I've said is that he doesnt attack as much as other players, which is why he doesnt get to the line as much.

You can get more shots at the rim if you play for an uptempo team that likes to get out on the break, and get easy, uncontested buckets, but it doesnt mean that you are attacking more than another player. The Lakers like to run a lot, and are quite good at it. Also keep in mind, when you draw fouls, they dont count as FGAs, so while guys like Kevin Martin definitely gets to the rim more than 3 times a game, they are resulting in free-throws obviously. But you are probably too stupid to understand that concept.

Maybe not Kobe but the Lakers in general.

    2010
    Orlando: +141
    Lakers: +106
    Denver: +92
    Dallas: +83
    Cleveland: +42
    Boston: -6

These are personal fouls called in favor from basketball reference. This means that the Lakers were called for 106 less fouls than their opponents throughout this season thus far.

Most of Dirk's shots are from the outside, yet he's only shooting .1 less free throws per game than Kobe.
Same situation as guys like Wade and Martin. He often has bigger guys on him, and is quicker than most, so when he drives, he often draws fouls. Then if he has small guys on him, he works them in the high post, and often draws reaching fouls because he has suprisingly good handles for such a big guy, or he will back them down to a point where they pretty much have to foul, or he will get a 10 foot midrange, which is pretty much automatic for him, whether hes on or off balance. Dirk's ability to draw fouls comes because he is such a massive mismatch, arguably the biggest mismatch machine in the NBA, which is what makes him such an effective and deadly player, even though he may not be as skilled as plenty of others. He just has such an unusual skillset for a big guy.

I never said you said that. I just said it seems that way, by the manner in which you idiots are arguing, saying that Kevin Martin or Dirk gets more FTs despite being "shooters". But once again, your argument is skewed, and narrowminded.

I never said anything about him getting favorable calls. Just that others attack more, and therefore get more FTAs than he does.

Lakers fans = the biggest joke in the league and every time anyone calls you guys on it, it's "you're delusional, you're jealous, you don't watch the games". , come up with something new. You honestly want me to delve into the countless, indisputable examples over the years of the Lakers receiving favorable officiating? I guess everyone just hates the Lakers, that's what it is.

Funny, I don't remember there being a widespread belief that the Spurs received over the top (there's a perception that all top teams to an extent receive the benefit of the doubt) favorable officiating when they were on top and nobody (outside of obviously Spurs fans) liked the Spurs. The reality is people aren't blind, they know what they're seeing and even though I find since the Donaghy scandal it's less prevalent, the Lakers still receiving favorable officiating.
