Just the Manu > Dirk part.
I made it, somebody made a troll influenced by me.
Now, I can die in peace.
Just the Manu > Dirk part.
hey, whats up man!
sucks to have 0 rings
Butthurt Suns fan.
How can Dirk be in the same class as Manu? Ginobili is perhaps the only player in history to have won the Euroleague, Olympics, and the NBA Championship. What the did Dirk do in his choke-ridden NBA career? The more important question is, what did he accomplish for the German National team? Dirk is very, very good but Ginobili is just a winner.
When everything is said and done, Manu is going to be up there in the hall-of-fame talks. I dunno about Dirk though
of course dirk can't be in the same class with Manu because he's several grades higher than this argentinian raddled bald-head. a couple years ago it might hold a little water to argue the prime Manu was roughly as good as Dirk of the same period of time but now you would be nuts if you think the current Dirk of prime version isn't lightyears better than Manu whose prime has been years past him. I'm sure the Argentinian team would be much greater and German team poorer with Manu and Dirk switched.
Dirk is nothing more than a 7-foot jumpshooting big man who gets tons of calls from the refs. Look at what that choker did to your sorry-ass franchise. As long as you have him in your team, you're not gonna see any of these![]()
Still I would rather have him than an Argentinian fragile yolk though. Spurs were just given a gift from God in 97 and built a dynasty around Tim Duncan. Spurs have 4 world championships in franchise history but Manu only has 3 in hand, without him Spurs managed to win championship in 99 and I think the next 3 les were still winnable even if Spurs got someone else in Manu's place. Manu is a good player but nowhere close to the level of elites like the German shooting guard who once carried his team to the NBA finals. Mavs cannot do without Dirk, analogously Spurs would also have done nothing without Duncan, but both teams are still what they are without JET, Manu...
Manu= 3 rings
Dirk=0
Try again
Manu without Duncan would equal 0 rings as well. Give Dirk Duncan and that would be a dynasty.
Let's not talk about alternate histories here. Manu is one of the most accomplished players of our time. The dude has proven time and time again that he can win in the Olympics even without a dominant big man. What I don't understand is why people put Dirk over Manu. Manu has accomplished everything in basketball that Dirk can only dream of.
Oh I get it, we're just supposed to stay out of this and let these Mav gots pretend like they never choked and watch them gobble on Dirk's ? Never mind the fact that these es take a shot at the Spurs every chance they get. Seriously do you know how much of a pussy you sound like when you ask that. I bet you turn into a little sensitive when they talk about the Holocaust at school too and ask the teachers not to talk about it you ing Jewish got.
damn the Nazi sympathizer is pissed off
you sound like a pissy little
For one thing, Manu can't play heavy minutes as he breaks down. Having him come off the bench for a long time shows that he can't play 40+ minutes. I don't know how he pulled off the Olympics but the chemistry of the team around him was important. USA lost to Greece. A team of no superstars but just great teamwork. I feel the same is with Argentina. No doubt Manu is energy off the bench but he isn't a superstar. Duncan and David Robinson I've considered superstars.
He's probably 5'5" but I wouldn't call him little since he weighs like 300 pounds.
Argentinian doesn't own a dominant big nor does any other team including dream team US. It was due to nothing but team US sucked that Argentina somehow purloined the Olympic championship in Athens which is pure coincidence i tell ya. Spain hadn't yet fledged by 04 and US refused to give enough attention to Olympics, which combined left Argentina the biggest chance to win it and they really did. It never holds much water to involve Olympics awards when estimating NBA players. Dirk just plays on a weak national team and that's the only reason he hasn't won any international glory that Manu has won quite a bag of, and hypothetically I guarantee ya Dirk would win more international and continental honours than Manu's if his supporting cases were even half as good as Manu's.
Im not trying to argue Manu>Dirk, but some of you are underrating Manu. He was the 2nd best SG in the game during his prime...he was an elite player. And call it corny or whatever but the dude has Kobe-esque drive to win that very few players have, Dirk doesnt have that. And sure he wasnt the alpha dog of the Spurs but he's enjoyed sucess as an alpha dog in other compe ions. Dont give me this talent BS either, sure Argentina had solid players but they werent more talented than the USA team or even the Spanish & Serbian teams for that matter and they still whooped that ass in Greece 04'. Some of you haters like to twist it and make a joke out of it but Manu is a flat out winner because of his drive, anyone that denies that or tries to imply that he just road Duncan's coattails is a moron. Spurs dont win in 05' and 07' without Manu.
Spurs don't win in 99, 03, 05 or 07 without Duncan.
Manu doesn't have to play 40 minutes because he can impact the game anytime. He can play 20 minutes yet he can change the complexion of the game in an instant.
Agree on the chemistry part, but more than chemistry, it still takes a great player to win anything significant in the Olympic stage and Manu did that role for Argentina.
pull the U MAD card when your arguments is ...it never fails!!!
thx
duncan was the alpha dog of every single one of those teams, did i at any point question that? nah, my argument was in response to people saying manu was a "replaceable fragile yolk" who road duncan's coattails.
the re ed point is Spurs fans cannot stop ranting their "four ring" anthem round and round again while arguing with Mavs fans, but always manage to snap their singing all of a sudden as soon as the 17-ring Lakers fans join into your argument. Then you fatuous re s steer the topic towards Kobe's ness. It's just because Spurs usually get owned by Mavs and Lakers that they're so sensitive to the posts from their fans and often slip into arguments against them, which is ubiquitously seen.
I had no idea what your argument even was. Manu>Dirk? That's like saying the sky is green. There is no way to argue against someone with frontal lobe damage who is too entrenched in their re ed logic to follow the logic normal people use.
