Still wonder why we let Mahinmi go... he'd be a fine 5th big for us.
    Several reasons..
    1. Mahinmi wanted playing time (he didn't get it with his first year with dallas though.)
    2. We actually had a deeper frontcourt rotation last year in Duncan, Dice, Blair, Bonner and Splitter. Therefore paying a 6th big 700k+ factoring in the luxury tax didn't make sense.
    3. Gambled on Dice's contract/willingness to play one more season. We thought Dice's non-guaranteed contract could be useful in trades.. it wasn't. Dice remains retired so our frontcourt was reduced to just 4 players.

I said before the season I was worried about the Spurs having many low energy games. It is a huge issue this season (given, many teams are struggling and getting blown out) but it's alarming how this team can come out and look so dead.
Low energy games are fine as long as you make sure they aren't against division rivals hwen you're in the most compe ive division in the entire history of the league

This game is starting to look really ugly. And I know the Mavs are the defending champs, but come on, it sounds like we have Mavs announcers on ESPN tonight.

Damn guys, don't you know who I am? Hi, I'm O_V and I thought Mahinmi was good before it was cool.

    Because he's a foul machine.
    We're talking about a 5th big. Doesn't matter.

Part of the low energy is not having enough guys to bring energy of the bench. You start the game with your best defenders and bring your energy guys of the bench.

It's cuz they signed Mahinmi before thye knew they had a chance at Chandler. He was slated to get that PT, but they got a steal with Chandler and he was back to the bench.

Then misses the FTs. This might be one of the most frustrating games I've watched all year.

It took 22 games to Jefferson attack the basket. Maybe we'll see it again in April
