Lakers will probably end third and they should win their 1st round in the playoffs, then they will probably play San Antonio. Who do you Lakers fans fans think have the advantage in that matchup?

Then it's the WCF against a young, unproven Thunder team. Of course LA has a shot.
Unproven? That team went to the WCF last season. I wouldn't call that unproven.

I'm calling it now. Mike Brown will overachieve with this team in the playoffs. His philosophy doesn't look too pretty in the regular season and might lose some games that should've been won, but in the post-season, when the scores of games are typically in the low 90s, his style is a good one to have.

Maybe not, but i am blaming Blake. I dont get why Mini Mamba isnt getting more run. He can become at least a reasonable PG and he has a shot. Blake is absolutely horrid at this point. He is a detriment to the team and a step back for all the white wanna be players everywhere. At least McBob and the lion from Wizard of Oz know their jobs. Blake doesnt seem to know what he should be doing most of the time.

No way. He called two timeouts today to draw two Kobe isos.

He's a long ways from being a decent coach, and you can bet he's going to cost LA games, especially in the playoffs.

    My only coaching positives:

    1. is that Brown is trying to show some assertiveness
    2. Brown has called some good sideline/half-court in bound plays ...

Negatives (there are more but top 3)
    1. Poor rotations
    2. over reliance on big 3
    3. Defense is slipping lately ...

I think Mike is doing a fine job. It takes a while to get some of these guys' attention. They are too accustomed to being "stars". Every Lakers player is treated like a star. Mike Brown ain't having that at ude on the court. Dude knows how to win regular season games (learned from the best).
He has done a good job considering who is folllowing, and all the that goes on coaching the Lakers. Doesnt change the fact he has Kobe, pau and Drew playing too many minutes. And he waited way too long to start using McRoberts. I know Kobe isos quite a bit but Brown has called some great plays at times. Question is will the Lakers listen?

Popovich was super-predictable and one-dimensional on offense during the first half of the 00s with his "throw it into Duncan and get out of the way (but if you're double teamed, pass it to one of the shooters camping out at the arc)" playcalling, and the Spurs still managed to win 3 les because they knew how to grind games out and close. Obviously these Lakers are nowhere as good defensively as those Spurs, but Brown's approach isn't too far off from vintage Pop.

He had dominant Duncan... there's just no comparisons... this guy has Pau, Drew... it's crazy he benched drew tonight

the Lakers do the same 4 up 1 down ISO Kobe or Bynum in post, problem is the 4 aren't like the spurs they can't make 3s, only Barnes can so often they get good ball movement that ends in a turnover or 3 seconds because nobody wants to brick he 3, a bricked 3 equals a fast break for a team.
he Lakers do benefit from pace slowing down in playoffs, and milking their starters so depth doesn't hurt them but their defense has to come back. Allowing 91 a game was good, now 100 every night is a 2nd round exit.

Kobe and Drew only know the triangle. Playing anything else for some of these guys is like learning to ride a bike again.

Two bigs on the floor, there should never be that much outside shooting, especially when you have a guy who can get to the rim at will anyhow.

Right, but if they meet the Lakers in the 2nd round, that's not the WCF.

Pau and Drew should be getting 30+ shots a game between the two. The efficiency for them inside is just too high to ignore the inside out game.

Nice but that was stupid as for him to shoot that 3. Who on GS should be able to check him? They got a bunch of midgets out there. 5 rebs. 4/13 FGAs. 1 block. Against GS. He took a major step back in my book. Totally unacceptable.

You guys say that ... but do you watch the games? Unless Pau has an obvious mismatch like last night ...he is shooting jumpers, not posting up. Even smaller aggressive PF's like Milsap sometimes Pau cant back them down. to be fair when Bynum and Pau play together there is no block for Pau to occupy and Kobe loves the block too. Pau is sacrificing his game. But too often when we need him to beat his man, Pau hesitates, defers to Kobe or the open guy or settles for a jumper. Even when he was hitting them against Dallas, he settles too much. Last night was the first time in a long while... I saw both the left and righty hooks Pau actually has a better post-game than Drew but it has been dormant. Since Bynum wants to shoot jumpers, maybe we should switch roles on offense. Only thing is Drew is not as good a passer ...

Why do you play dumb sometimes? What's happened more this year: Bynum grabbing 5 or less rebounds in a game or Kobe shooting sub 40%?
