Please show me a government with a bigger MIC that is profiting more than the United States in continuous wars.
    You stated corruption.

I can list a long line of governments more corrupt than the US and leaders more corrupt than Trump.
    Start with just One:

    Russia AND Putin

    You typed something really stupid.
You can stop now instead of veering off the road.

We may have different ideas of corruption. I can't think of anything more corrupt than enriching yourself and your buddies by being continuously involved in wars/coups/killing across the globe.

Let's not get off topic any further and derail the thread. PM me so I can not respond.

    Schumer

“Sen. Schumer, you told me last year before the election that you lost confidence in Jim Comey because of how he handled the email scandal,” one reporter said. “Do you think that the president’s explanation … has credibility?”

    00:0001:48
    Schumer became a bit defensive.

"I never called on the president to fire Director Comey," said Schumer.

Schumer then said Trump should have fired Comey earlier in his young presidency if he had some of the same concerns as Democrats.

It was a clever ploy. But it cannot hide the fact that Democrats have hated Comey for months. Many blame Comey for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's losing the election. Comey famously released a letter to Congress just before the Nov. 8 election indicating that he was reopening an investigation into how Clinton handled classified emails.

Comey, being Comey, closed the new investigation in record time, ending the investigation two days before Election Day and enraging Republicans by publicly declaring he still would not recommend charges against Clinton.

Schumer indicated Comey's handling of the matter was a deal-breaker.

"I do not have confidence in him any longer," Schumer said of Comey on Nov. 2.

Schumer called Comey's letter to Congress "appalling."

Schumer is far from the only Democrat who has questioned Comey's judgement or called for his firing.

"Maybe he's not in the right job," House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told CNN on Nov. 2.

Clinton adviser James Carville went so far as to bizarrely suggest Comey, House Republicans, and the KGB (disbanded during the collapse of the Soviet Union) were in cahoots to elect Trump, during a Oct. 31 interview on MSNBC.

A handful of Democratic lawmakers have outright called for the FBI director to resign or be fired.

"This is not fake news. Intelligence officials are hiding connections to the Russian government. There is no question," then-Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said in a Dec. 10 interview on MSNBC. "Comey knew and deliberately kept this info a secret," he said.

The MSNBC host asked Reid if Comey should resign. "Of course, yes," Reid replied.

Comey's decision to publicly reopen the Clinton investigation drove Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) to also demand the FBI director resign.

"I called on FBI Director James Comey to resign his position after his recent communication with members of Congress regarding the bureau's review of emails potentially related to Hillary Clinton's personal email server," Cohen wrote in a Nov. 3 op-ed published in The Hill.

So great was Democratic animus towards Comey that several lawmakers walked out on the FBI director during a closed-door briefing on Russian hacking in the 2016 election, open to all members of the House, according to CBS News.

Two of those Democratic lawmakers blasted Comey to reporters outside the meeting.

"The FBI director has no credibility," said Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), according to CBS.

"My confidence in the FBI director's ability to lead this agency has been shaken," said Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.).

Hillary herself still blames Comey for losing the election, despite the fact she didn't campaign in Wisconsin and Michigan, had poor polling numbers as far back as the summer, and couldn't inspire younger and Hispanic voters to come out for her in strong numbers — among other faults.

"If the election had been on October 27, I would be your president," she told a women's conference moderated by CNN's Christiane Amanpour on May 2. "It wasn't a perfect campaign, but I was on the way to winning until a combination of Comey's letter and Russian WikiLeaks. The reason why I believe we lost were the intervening events in the last 10 days."

When Trump took action to remove him from his position Tuesday, many of the same Democrats, including Schumer, who had blasted Comey or demanded he resign made a swift about-face to criticize Trump.

"Donald Trump should follow his FBI Director out the door #nocredibility," tweeted Rep. Maxine Waters.
Schumer is as bad as McConnel.

Hillary broke laws and there were hundreds of do ents provided as proof. There is no proof Trump is compromised.

    Try again.
This is not just about Trump.
    Try again.
Its about his campaign and various advisors.

It shouldbe, by your accounts, allowed to go forward, and then quickly closed as there will be nothing to find.

In 13 minutes, Comey laid out an airtight legal case against Hillary Clinton. And then, inexplicably, he let her off the hook. Comey completely ignored all the laws that Hillary Clinton broke. If you or I had done anything close to what Hillary Clinton did, we would be perp walked, fingerprinted, mugshotted and put in jail.

In the end, Comey proved himself to be nothing more than a political hack. Was it because Comey thought Hillary was going to win and become the president? Did he like the power of holding the trajectory of the election in his hands? We may never know.
It's always entertaining when ducks blatantly copy/pastes from somewhere.

By firing James Comey, Trump has put impeachment on the table

A whiff of obstruction of justice is in the air

Firing the FBI director in order to obstruct an ongoing investigation would be different.

That obstruction charge is, of course, unproven as of Wednesday afternoon. But the probable cause is everywhere.

And it makes a sham of the notion that replacing Comey with a well-qualified director or continuing with existing congressional inquiries is a sufficient remedy.

There needs to be a separate investigation — featuring sworn testimony from the key players and subpoenas of do ents — into why Comey was fired. Was it because Trump suddenly decided in mid-May that Comey’s handling of the Clinton emails was unforgivable, or was it because Trump was trying to obstruct justice?

The answer makes a huge difference.

Media reports suggest obstruction of justice

Anonymously sourced journalism is not the same thing as sworn testimony or hard evidence.

But it’s also indispensable to uncovering official wrongdoing.

And Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning already brought forth plenty of evidence of wrongdoing:

Journalists can do a lot, but we can’t compel testimony or force the disclosure of do ents.

A special prosecutor and congressional committees could.

    We ought to have both.

But thus far, it looks more likely that we will have neither.

Repugs, esp a total s bag PRICK like O'Connell, will stonewall, coverup to protect their Useful Idiot Trash.

Big difference between calling for Comey to be fired and simply criticizing his treatment of one investigation especially when Trump celebrated his handling of it when it seemed as though the case were reopened.

no one remembers one of your thousands of tweets

I do though. Flynn associates from 2014 are being subpoenaed, looks like Obama admin is getting dragged into this.

Have you seen any tweets on whether or not Rice and Lynch are being subpoenaed? With Comey out of the way there is no one to protect them anymore.

    blowback STRONG, so make up

“I think one of the big catalysts that we saw was last week on Wednesday,” Sanders said.

“Director Comey made a pretty startling revelation that he had essentially taken a stick of dynamite and thrown it into the Department of Justice by going around the chain of command when he decided to take steps without talking to the attorney general or the deputy attorney general.”

Sanders cited Comey’s decision to hold a surprise press conference in July 2016 announcing that he would not recommend charges against Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server.

“He would not let them know what he was going to say, and that is simply not allowed,” she said.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, in a memo on Tuesday, accused Comey of causing “substantial damage” to the FBI’s “reputation and credibility” through his handling of the investigation.

The White House cited “clear recommendations” from Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions in its statement Tuesday on Comey’s termination, though Trump at times praised Comey’s work on the probe.

According to several reports on Tuesday, Trump’s administration spent at least a week before Comey’s termination looking for a reason to fire him.

Sanders on Wednesday gave those reports some credence by saying that Comey was on thin ice since the day Trump won the 2016 election, though Trump was vocal with his support for Comey just days after his inauguration in January.

As another reason for Comey’s firing, Sanders pointed to his inaccurate testimony before the Senate panel about “hundreds and thousands” of emails he incorrectly claimed top Clinton aide Huma Abedin forwarded to her husband, Anthony Weiner.

The FBI sent Congress a letter on Tuesday correcting Comey’s testimony just 20 minutes before Trump fired him.

Comey threw the election Trash, so everybody, at least serious reasonable people, should give a huge about Comey.

Obviously, Trash and his team gave such a huge about Comey that they had to jettison him, like they did with Flynn.

I bet Comey and Flynn have enough goods on Trash to bring him down.

And it will take a lot of goods for the upcovering, ty Repugs to impeach AND convict Trash.

DONALD TRUMP’S FIRING OF JAMES COMEY IS AN ATTACK ON AMERICAN DEMOCRACY

At t a time like this, it is important to express things plainly. On Tuesday evening, Donald Trump acted like a despot.

Without warning or provocation, he summarily fired the independent-minded director of the F.B.I., James Comey.

Comey had been overseeing an investigation into whether there was any collusion between Trump’s Presidential campaign and the government of Russia.

With Comey out of the way, Trump can now pick his own man (or woman) to run the Bureau, and this person will have the authority to close down that investigation.

    That is what has happened.

It amounts to a premeditated and terrifying attack on the American system of government.

Quite possibly, it will usher in a cons utional crisis.

Even if it doesn’t, it represents the most unnerving turn yet in what is a uniquely unnerving Presidency.

Things like this are not supposed to happen in a liberal democracy, especially in one that takes pride, as the United States does, in safeguards put in place against the arbitrary exercise of power.

The F.B.I. is meant to be an independent agency, above and beyond partisan politics and personal grudges.

(That is why its directors are appointed for ten-year terms.)

The President is supposed to respect this independence, especially when it comes to matters in which he has, or could have, a personal interest.

Since when did you give the tiniest about Comey?
Since when do you give the tiniest about something potentially treasonous that a sitting US president is accused of?

Should we investigate? Why or why not?
