Of course, because San Antonio couldn't possibly have that kind of money.

    Right?

No, just so that we are clear that it is indeed what you represent it to be.

    Writerguy,

What have you done in the last couple of months to help support the city's effort to keep the Saints? Have you gone to a game? Bought any apparel? Attended the Saints in SA pep rally? Or just pasted Express-News and SA Business Journal articles onto this website (and your N-Sync forum as well, but that's your business), and waited for the realists to show up and start arguments?

    Just curious.
Went to the Falcons game yesterday and will more than likely go to the Christmas Eve game depending on my schedule (waits for the clever insults) to see if I can do it.

Have I bought any Saints apparel? No. It's not my team. If they do become the San Antonio Saints, sure, why not. But they're the New Orleans Saints.

-20,000 people who can afford and are willing to pay $11.5K over 5 years
-100,000 people who can afford and are willing to pay $130 a year
-80 companies willing to spring $70K a year for boxes.
My hunch is that SA can provide the second group, but no way can it provide the first and third groups without help from Austin.
What does a Spurs season ticket cost on average? $3K for 45 games? And how many season ticket holders are there?

My tax money goes to bull causes already. I don't understand why people would whine any further about having more go to fund a football stadium.

People act like all their tax money goes to something that actually helps, when in reality it goes to garbage like building highways in Alaska that don't go anywhere and PORK.

Where in that link is household income listed? Or number of Quarry-area residents?

Jeez, this is just a forum on the internets for nutjob Spurs fans. I didn't realize what was discussed here had such an effect on the local community.

Here's the quote from the article:

"More than 240,000 people work within 5 miles of the location, and average income in the surrounding one-mile area is nearly $94,000."

  15. #215
So where's the support for the # of people who live in the 1 mile area?

The Quarry Market is in the 78209 zip code.

Did a quick search and in the 78209 zip code there are 40,675 people in a 10 sq. mile area (as of 2000).

  17. #217
So you just grew it to 50k and cut it in half.

Nope. Never new what the 78209 population was.

But the 78209 zip code extends easternly while the Quarry is on the north western front of this zipcode.

The one mile radius includes several other zip codes.

  20. #220
Also, that seems a bit high for a per capita income figure.

    What seems high?

Oh yeah, San Antonio doesn't have that kind of money, right?

    Two roll eyes this time.

What? If you take a one mile radius from the Quarry and capture that swath of SA then yeah, a $94k per capita income does seem kind of high, even with you snagging a good number of 09ers.

  25. #225
Then how did you arrive at that figure? Stroke your while thinking of the St. Mary's Oyster Bake and let it hit the keys on a calculator?
