Yeah but that was a long time ago *
And in 2014 as well. He came in at the end and stat padded with the game decided already.

I like Tony's play especially in his prime. Not a huge fan of Tony off court vs the rest of the big 3.

Tony had a right to question Kawhi at the time. Too bad today's superstars can't be talked to or questioned. The NBA is fun.
Yes, in the lockerroom or with the front office. Not to the media. Why didn't someone comment to the media about Tony ing Brent's wife? Of course, that was all kept in house.

I’ll always remember this game and the one against the Sonics his Rookie season. Was only 19 at the time. That’s when Spurfan collectively knew this kid was gonna be really good.

Wow. I forgot that Sonics performance tbh.. TP was so god damn fast when he was young

And spent a quarter of this season "managing his load" and is still dealing with leg and knee issues.

Kawhi is a supreme talent and obviously I wish he was still a Spur, but the concerns about his injuries being chronic were obviously not unfounded.
the whole thing was about Dennis trying to strong arm the Spurs. He was always able to play. Only idiots think this is the Spurs or Parkers fault

Parker always took a backseat to Tim and Manu when it came to fan love. Now his retirement has gotten completely buried by the Kevin Durant story.

    Just can’t catch a break.

Well said Skip! A shot at Quitter!

I will never forgive Quitter for not sitting on the bench supporting his team mates during the playoffs and hiding from Pop! Pop losing his wife and trying to get the team ready for the playoffs! Unforgivable!

Thank you TP for all of the memories and championships! You are an amazing basketball player! We are so proud to have you on our team! The end of the era of the greatest Big 3 ever! Greatest PG ever! Enjoy your retirement! Sad! I was hoping he could come back and finish his career as a Spur! Looking forward to your retirement celebration and retiring your jersey among the rafters with the greatest Spurs players!

So, Tony's HOF class should be him, DWade, maybe Melo? Who else is retiring this year? Possibly Manu could be in that class, if somehow he isn't first ballot (which would be a disgrace, but knowing the media indifference to the Spurs, could happen.)

There's definitely truth to that. I thought the media leaks during the Kawhi fiasco seemed pretty deliberate, which was un-Spurs like. I think this group just wasn't accustomed to dealing with a situation like that one and probably made their own share of mistakes along the way.

Yep. Can't believe I forgot him. He'll be in that class. A lock.

Melo should sign a 10 day next year to avoid having to be inducted with those three (Tony Wade Dirk) who all won les and Finals MVPs.

I want Manu to be a first ballot and he almost certainly will be. But would be cool seeing the two go in together.

in the years we were an elite defense with a meh offense, dude was an instrumental source of easy buckets by being a one man fastbreak, finishing between 3 guys in the paint, etc

was always a great player, but for a ~2 year window was truly elite and would outplay CP3 heads up seemingly every time
Though his inability to ever be taken seriously as a shooter was a large part of the reason we had a "meh" offense... and don't get me wrong, I loved TP, just not quite as much as TD or Manu

Tony can be honest with no consequences since Kawhi forced his way out of SA. I hope he takes some shots at Kawhi. He has every right as a HOF point guard.

Wow. Pretty cool. He was great for them. I didn't want him to play for them sometimes as he always wanted to (It's tough when you're a fan of an NBA team that the specific player is on). I can't remember, what's the highest France ever finished? 2nd in the Olympics, right? They really could have won one of those World Championships/FIBA World Cups, but things didn't go right for them.

France finished 2nd in the Olympics before and after TP's generation (2000 & 2020)

Biggest accoumlishment of TP's generation was winning the Euro in 13' with TP taking over

At the risk of repeating myself the main reason this generation didn't do more was mostly the incompetence of the (still present) coach. Boris was the coach on the floor and TP the X factor able to take over by sequences.

I always thought those teams with TP and Boris were destined for more. Sucks that they didn't maximize their potential.

    agreed

Well it was the only time we ever made finals back to back so there’s that

the 2015 season was simply disappointing after the beautiful basketball of 2013 and 2014. But honestly after 2014 everything else was gravy

I was talking about France with Boris and Tony, not the Spurs.
