So far this team seems to be able turn the switch on and off at will (except for the Mavs game).

When was the last time Spurs shot 56% FG?? wow.

WAS isn't that good, Seattle is amazingly bad, getting blown out by everbbody. I guess Nate was worth more than the mgmt thought.
let me hear from Bowen's favorite Ray Allen. I guess he has something to say on this matter

Pop tried some really interesting combinations tonight and was definitely sure in advance that he wanted to get Marks and Oberto some floortime. The fact that Nazr was pretty much relegated to garbage time as the sixth big man makes me wonder what is going on at practice that we don't see. Pop insists he will play the guys that are doing the best. A big lead and a back-to-back was the perfect night to get Nazr the chance to get into better game shape, but instead we saw Marks. I don't buy that it is about lowering his value to re-sign him cheap. Looks more like an attempt to see how they could function without him.

Boston did not play big tonight. Pop started Duncan at Center with Horry at 4, most likely to because LaFrentz likes to play on the perimeter. This is 1st of b2b with tomorrow being the get-away game (I wanna go home). They will need Nazr and Rasho fresh to battle in there with Haywood and Etan Thomas, a bigger, more physical bunch.

Tonight was date night with the Mrs, and I was only able to catch a few minutes on WOAI (which btw, comes in excellent here in Katy).

Anything remarkable about this win, other than what seems like a strong 3rd quarter? The box score looks like Timmy and TP carried again, manu being limited in minutes and a plethora of 6-8 point efforts from the rest of the team.

When the Spurs ran conventional lineups, they blew the Celts away. When they got cute trying to find out if Sean Marks was Danny Ferry, they got their asses handed to them.

Rasho started the second half, though and when they went small he even countered it some with Rasho and the 4 smalls in the fourth quarter. The back-to-back seems a reason to have played Nazr more and Rasho less. Come on, do you really think match-ups dictated Marks and Oberto on the floor before Nazr? Spurs don't need Nazr fresh-- they need Nazr in shape and a blow-out was the perfect chance to get him some time, but they used the chance instead to get Marks and Oberto playing time.

Just goes to show that you can't replace Danny Ferry!

"Popovich started Robert Horry in place of Nesterovic, so Duncan wouldn't have to chase Raef LaFrentz out to the 3-point line."

    Behind the scenes
    Spurs-Celtics games

Friday night gave another example, as did a fan yelling from the baseline. Loud and firm — with the Spurs ahead by 20 points — the fan directed his anger at Pierce.

"Pass the ball! It's a TEAM game!"

Pierce yelled back, as if words would change the truth.
