Kid is not a rookie. This is not the start of his sop re NBA season. Luka's been in the league four plus seasons now and has dominated since day one. Breaking dudes hearts as a rookie. Taking a trash roster to the playoffs in his second year. Bowing up against talking Clippers players in his first playoff series, and frankly changing their minds in the process while dropping a 40bagger on playoff-peegee and Marcus Morris. And we just saw him take another trash roster all the way to the conference finals while dismantling the team with the best record in the league along the way.
Rush annointment?? Lol his first four years in the league compare quite favorably to LeBron's first four seasons in the league, both individually and as a team.
And it's no disparagement towards Joker or Freak. Both great players. Both deserving MVPs the years they won. It's about how great Luka is. Realizing and acknowledging it. It sounds more ridiculous not to acknowledge it tbh.
I know, I just mean that so many clearly want him to be the best player because he's white and playing the glamor role, but he's been fourth (Embiid) the past couple of seasons (yes, they're all squarely in their prime) and Harden (regular season) was basically doing the same thing a few seasons ago, yet he wasn't being incessantly slobbered over.
He also clearly gets away with a lot of antics most of the black superstars and stars don't.

The talent level and potential is amazing. Crazy thing is that a year ago today everyone thought that franchise was a disaster on the verge of another blowup/rebuild. Shows how little the media really knows.
They have a pretty exciting roster of young talent. Trey Murphy has star potential. Dyson Daniels has intriguing size and skill. And Alvarado has got to be related to JJ Barea. But the Pelicans as a legitimate le contending team, and not just a very good playoff team that loses in the second round every year, will still ultimately hinge on whether the scale reads 280 or less or 300+, and how that impacts Zion’s $193 million knees.
So, Luka was 1st on the MVP leader board. Then wins vs Golden State, Phoenix and Denver and somehow falls to 3rd. Lol
