Well for once Pop is being honest
Well for once Pop is being honest
I dont know man, he looks pretty jacked now. Definitely see the difference from last year
Could've won if he played Vassell but as others have already said, he was supposedly on a minutes restriction. It was a stupid decision in my opinion. Pop's not going to do what it takes to properly tank, and since he'll keep making head scratchers like tonight, he's going to keep the Spurs mediocre.
Good game and outcome.
Keldon couldnt hit from 3 today, and their were a few bone headed play by Richardson and others in there. But nice effort and heart shown out there.
From 4th to 10th just like that. Spurs still on the treadmill?!
What. Pop did EXACTLY what you do to properly tank. He had a player tonight in Devin who was on fire and probably on his way to 40 or more points, while generating tons of open looks for others since the clippers whole team was trying to slow him down. So what does Pop do? He doesn't put the one guy the clippers can't stop back in the game. And then to make sure the spurs lose, he plays our absolute worst defensive lineup, which is Keldon and Doug on the court together.
What Pop did tonight is literally tanking 101Take your best player out and finish the game with your worst defensive lineup.
Why do people want Vassell to play over the minute restriction? That kid has knee soreness.
Pop did this for ONE game. He's not going to do what's needed to properly tank CONSISTENTLY. To me that's an easy bet to make. If we want to tank, we're gonna have to go on consistent 3-5+ as well as periodic 10+ game losing streaks. I simply do not see this happening. We'll see of course. Always up to eat my words.
Yeah, I mean good point. I just feel if he could play, then play him, is all I'm saying. Better to err on the side I suppose.
Because he looked perfectly healthy. Was having arguably the best game of his career. And there is no exact science that says if you play someone 29 minutes who is coming back from knee soreness they won't be to hurt to play tomorrow but if you play them 32 minutes coming back from knee soreness then they will be to hurt to play tomorrow?
I'm not complaining because I am on team tank and I feel like we win this game if Devin just place 5 more minutes, but a coach who has winning as a priority for him is not going to pull a 23 year old who is having the game of his life because he missed 3 games with knee soreness.
Perfect game it was compe ive but we still get the L. I give Pop a A+ for grade
I can't judge knee soreness on tv maybe your right.
Spurs really need a young guy who can come off the bench and put in points. Too bad Primo was such a -up.
that's not tanking, that's regular Popovich coaching. Devin got his career high, so he had to sit to get over himself
Honestly I really paid attention to their size while both were on the floor, you can tell the difference, and Collins is also more bulked.
You people really want to get a role player out of next years draft?
No. I don't. The group plays together pretty well and has two tough covers. They are nearly not as bad as I thought they would be when I went to game one.
I bet Paul George would like playing with this Spurs team rather than the one he has now. His superstar teammate may never play again for a long stretch of games - he will just sit when something is "off" a little bit. #2 is really kind of a psychopath.
CIA Pop with the long con then?
Two of our 1st round picks in the last 3 years aren't even on the team anymore.
At this point I would settle for any player who isn't a moody emo like Saminic and who doesn't randomly pull his out like Primo tbh. Just drafting a normal human basketball player with upside will be good enough for me in this draft.
I would say he's more of a sociopath.
