Dark skin and Vodou. A very scary combination for the Satanic Panic aficionados.

He knew what he was doing when he dropped that line no doubt.

He was LYING. Purposeful manipulation of facts. Or alternative facts as Kelly Ann says.

You See your screen name is really not TSA. Its really something else, even though you have clearly put it in as TSA.
Well you fooled everyone when they read TSA. "Oh but it really stands for..." It SAYS SPELLED OUT, TSA.

Trump's delivery sounded bonkers, but it appears that was factual as of Kamala Harris's 2019 primary campaign. Trump ought to have asked Harris if she has changed her mind since then, but Trump was too screwy and shouty: he lost it there, and not for the last time. Trump lost it several times.

    today's WSJ opinion page

Trump did sound like MAGA madlibs in a shouty old man voice last night. Like he didn't know it wasn't a Trump rally, or didn't care.

Opinion | Is the 2024 Presidential Election Over? (wsj.com)

Mr. Trump’s political persona emerged in a series of Republican primary debates in 2015 and 2016. As an outsider, Mr. Trump’s gruff, blunt style had appeal then because he caught the moment when many voters were souring on traditional politics and the major parties.
But that was eight years ago. The current Trump model is a caricature of the original, and Mr. Trump isn’t someone who could withstand becoming a caricature. By the 30-minute mark of the debate, the former president was shouting his answers, as he does at rallies, or indeed as Mr. Biden does.

Mr. Trump chose not to expose himself to the critical pressure of the 2023 Republican primary debates against candidates like Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis and Doug Burgum, choosing instead to hold mega-rallies. But the rallies-only choice has eroded Mr. Trump’s skills as a communicator of ideas.
Mr. Trump’s current rally model assumes his audience is in on everything he’s talking about. Now, no matter the venue, Mr. Trump forces listeners to fill in the blanks of policy substance that he leaves out. But for swing voters, what he is saying is often incoherent and confusing.

    possibly; don't know

for the person who has already transitioned with the assistance of hormones, withdrawal of the same could be harmful. therefore prescribing it could be considered a proper course of medical treatment, and withholding the treatment, abusive and wrong.

I actually agree that it was closer than what some people are suggesting. Not a draw, but not a Harris landslide. Harris won and won by a fairly comfortable margin. But I think a lot of it was because Trump did himself in when he got triggered by the “people leave his rallies early” comment. That ticked him off and got him in defense mode, ramble off a bunch of lies, and rinse, repeat immigration . Harris, for her part, didn’t really detail much of her policy positions, ignored the question about her changing positions on several issues, and really didn’t defend herself on inflation or immigration. She beat him because she got him triggered. She still could have been better.

As for the 2025 project, Harris and dems should absolutely NOT give up that shtick. Repugs were dumb enough to make a manual, film recruiting videos, and get caught on video with donors talking about their connections to Trump, it’s fair game. That’s their own bad. A couple dozen former Trump staffers involved in it, including that Trump campaign spokesperson being on those recruiting videos, and anytime Trump and Vance deny the connection, it re-emphasizes what lying, disingenuous, pretentious s they really are.
Trump's agenda has always been Agenda 47 and not Project 2025 and he's yet to flip-flop on that. If Kamala had simply replaced her attacks on "Project 2025" with "Agenda 47" -- I'd say she would have objectively won. It was very close.

No question Trump left some hanging balls towards the middle of the plate, but Kamala didn't exactly capitalize the best. I give them both a B- for different reasons. Trump came off as sleepier than usual with too many repe ive talking points and the moderators definitely weren't moderate, fact-checking him 9 times to zero for Harris. Lindsey outright lied at least once, because for one Walz' own state does allow abortions up to and during birth, but Trump missed the opportunity to fact check her on that (he probably didn't know honestly). Not only did Harris not defend herself on policy, but dodged a bunch of questions including circling around the very first question with a soliloquy about her background (which included half-lies) as opposed to answering a direct question on policy. Trump absolutely killed her on the first question tbh, but Kamala fared better after that. A lot of the moderators backing Trump into corners whereas really only backing Kamala into a corner on the Afghanistan issue, but they moved on from that quicker. The climate change issue is certainly one Trump is going to defend by repeating "Kamala's going to ban fracking" and although I'm not sure if it's true or not (to be fair, she's flip-flopped a lot on that issue) it does play well in Pennsylvania. Trump mentioned unions multiple times and Harris didn't, which is big in the rust belt. Trump's biggest blunder of the night IMO was failing to answer the question on how he would enforce immigrant deportation, which is not only a bad thing in a debate but it also sort of leaves his own base out in the cold. People, independents, moderates, undecideds, even conservatives want actual solutions, not hearsay speech, and Harris was also guilty of a lot of hearsay stuff not giving her policy a clear and obvious backbone.

Kamala's shot in the dark about guests leaving Trump rallies early is falsehood and either she's been misinformed or it's an outright lie (I've been to many in both 2022 and 2024, literally nobody leaves early) but Trump got defensive rather than giving her the facts. He missed some hanging balls too. Like I said, both candidates get a B-. I thought Harris's answer on the Israel topic started out very strong and patriotic but then gradually got weaker and two-faced (you can't BOTH take Israel's side AND support a ceasefire and two-state solution, neither of which are the majority opinion; unwavering support for Israel against Gaza/Hamas would show much more strength on Harris' part IMO) which is very disappointing to moderates, Jews, independents in general, and all but the crazy far-left hippie types that don't really like her but may or may not grudgingly vote for her anyway.

    100%.

Gender-affirming care for a new (to us on the north side of the border) patient wouldn't typically include surgery in most cases, unless it was to clean up a previous botched operation (and by botched, I mean there's sepsis, necrosis, etc). The plan of care would also typically be based upon continuing whatever plan of care was already (or should have been) established. While as a new patient, they would be assigned an individualized plan of care, previous medical history obviously is always a major component, and most healthcare providers (on this side of the border) won't immediately launch into preparations for such an outcome without a lot of medical history, particularly psychiatric eval. Even then, the vast majority of trans people don't even get surgery as far as I remember. Despite feeling out of place in their own bodies, people still feel attachment to them, no pun intended.

She wasn't lying. People have been leaving his rallies early. That dude rambles on and on like someone's drunk uncle and the crowd gets exhausted and files out, probably feeling dumber than ever before for waiting in line all day to hear his garbage. I mean listen to what the guy is talking about and you can see why people don't want to stick around. He's been doing the same z-list standup routine since he lost.

CNN's Jake Tapper, in a shocking moment of journalism, SLAMS Kamala for dodging multiple debate questions:

"Vice President Harris began the debate by punting the first question on the economy..."

"On the border, another vulnerable issue for Harris, she also dodged..."

"When asked how she would break through the Israel-Hamas war stalemate...okay, but again, how?"
