He had like 3 days of rest, though.
One of Champs most complete games yet
CP3 with another double double 13/10
Tre Jones with the low-key great game: Mid court buzzer beater 3 at the end of the quarter, a full court sprint track down block leading to SAC TO and then turned the low probability inbound with seconds left in the quarter into a foul which sent him to the line for two FTs, took an injury on a hustle play.
He had like 3 days of rest, though.
Also of note: Spurs move to 2-0 this season when I start the Game Thread
Only Wemby can go from looking like Bol Bol in the beginning to the GOAT by the end of the game tbh
I keep thinking this whole comeback thing is gonna end and reality will hit. But our guys just keep doing it over and over
This game proved we have no reliable back up big. First time seeing goose eggs for both Blake n malaki...tre keeps him on bench but now we'll see what happens for Tues
Fellas, this team may be a top half of the standings in the WC team.
Hawaii time is the new Riga time
Proves without tanking n putting guys in bubble wrap we were always top 5 in west
Good win cause we will probably get skull ed by the suns tuesday
Spurs are 4 games out of the 1st seed in the West.
They might make it compe ive. This isn’t the same 22 win team of the last two years.
May we have energy for Phoenix
Let's hope for a big win against Phoenix. I would really love for these guys to go deep in the NBA cup. Important (even pseudo at this point) games for the young core should be priority #1.
That was a fun game to attend! Poor King fans at the game complained just like how we have done so the past few years: knowing they were going to blow the lead; leaving three point shooters open all game, and not taking enough 3 pointers themselves.
I don’t know how they won that game. They had 16 TO’s 6 more than kings, outrebounded especially offensively, got outscored in the paint. They were lucky they sank better 3’s because that was a formula for an L. It took Wemby a heroic triple-double to win, barely. Castle needs to step-up more, zero rebound and 25% FG. He’s 2-7 from 3pt. He cannot fall in love with 3. He needs to attack the rim and earn trips to the FT line or dish to an open 3. He needs to cut hard and punish smaller defenders.
It’s a lucky win but will take it.
Good stuff from Mitch, using personnel more suited for the matchup.
Tried with Bassey against Sabonis, didn't work due to foul trouble.
Keldon is useful in these matchups with no rim protection.
Devin showing why we'll need him if we're to compete this season.
Castle's worst game since he got the starting spot, he's a rookie, had to happen.
Hopefully Tre is alright, that looked like a few weeks out at least.
Looking at the standings, play-in looks more and more likely with each passing day.
Blazers and Jazz are obviously tanking, Pelicans are also out due to all the injuries and we're obviously a better team than the Kings that are in all sorts of trouble.
When everyone's healthy, I got no doubt that we can be better than one more team for that 10th seed.
Spurs were +33 on threes. It's 2024, 3s win you games.
The Spurs hit 50% 23-46 against 37.5% from the kings, and barely won.
I’d take it. I guess Castle didn’t have a good game, and I expect him to shake it off. And neither of our backup bigs did anything. Spurs have problems with dominant bigs, Sabonis, AD, Sengun. And Sochan is not really big.
You know with how good CP3 still is I don't think it's unreasonable to keep him on the team next season
We're always taking notes. You know this.
