Grizzlies went small alot- Wright only played 5 minutes- and thankfully we got some great all-around play by Brent. He really impressed me tonight. As I said in the other thread- put the ball in his hands and good things happen.

Fabricio did some nice things, as well.

Rough night for Rasho. He was forcing it too much in the first quarter- which it will be an adjustment for him trying to come off the bench like it is for everyone else who switches. Nazr: 24 minutes- 5 points; 6 rebounds- su iously similar to Rasho's numbers.

    Last 2 games--
Manu: 4/18. I'll keep a running tab of Manu's production with Nazr starting. Just to be a pest.

how bout he doesn't and makes it a year to year analysis. but who cares, manu always does his best work in the 4th when neither nazr or rasho is on the court.

The Spurs could have easily lost this game if it weren't for some good defensive stretches and the fact they forced some of the 24 turnovers. When you consider the Spurs scored almost 1/3 of their points (26 pts.) tonight off turnovers, you realize what they had to do pull this one out.

"they forced some of the 24 turnovers"

... but defense gave up 31 pts in the 4th qtr, and nearly gave up the game to an inferior team on the 2nd of B2B.

Spurs' weak, or at least inconsistent defense, esp in the paint, needs a LOT of toughening up.

I think I will take Manu's word for it- from right now.

"I'm not feeling that well penetrating, so I'm in a tough moment," Ginobili said.

31 points but 12 points in the last minute, 9 of those points came off 3s. Unless the "paint" extends to the 3 point line i don't think we were that bad defensively anywhere last night until that last minute. Also we were small alot last night especially in the 4th, oberto played 2 minutes as did Nazr in the last period so for 8 minutes we had tim at center with barry, finley, bruce and tony or beno in the game. Obviously our interior D isn't as strong with that small line up.

I'll just add that the Spurs held the Griz to 15 pts. in the 2nd and 11 pts. in the 3rd.
