For example, at my son's last game they were visitors & up 8-7 in the last inning. The other team had 2 outs and the tying run on 3rd ... who stole home on a pass-ball to tie. Well, the batter never left the box ... and in their league that's an automatic out. The other coach either didn't know or didn't say anything, and the ump didn't call it ... but my son's coach (who could probably recite the rule book backwards) was like "Oh, no!" and protested it. He was right, the runner was out and we won.

Its surprising how many games are decided by a rule like that. I love those games. When I am on the winning side of course.

So, at least 5 females and 5 males on the field. Does this mean we can have more men on the team than women so long as more men are not actually playing than woman?

The funny thing is I've been hit in the head with a baseball while I was batting. It's like anything else, you just have to shake it off.

Seriously guys, I don't know why ya'll think I'm discourging. I was trying to be helpful and laughing at some experiences. I never played any type of baseball/softball before last yr and now I can't get enough of it. It's really fun, now I don't know about coed, but you'd be suprised at how seriously these people take their softball.

Ebay is also a good place to buy a glove, I bought a $80 glove for $30. But I would chip in and buy a decent bat, I mean yes you can buy bats for $20 at walmart, but you don't really want those.

You can get away by playing the infield without cleats, but it helps having them in the outfield. Academy has them cheap $30-60.

If you end up at Ancira, I may go out and support the team. I always liked playing out there (I have the scars to prove it.) but my softball days are pretty much over. I still occasionally play volleyball out there. I would even buy a t-shirt supporting the team. Good luck!
