i wasn't celebrating wade's injury so off already
why are you so defensive? No one was generalizing Mavs fans.

I think the posters were just calling out the noticeable Mavs and Detroit posters at the beginning of this thread relishing in the injury. They were alternating for christ's sake!

I think Spurstalk have a fair share of acknowledgement that there some of the Mavs fans on here aren't i s. I mean, we hate a lot of our own posters on here. Lighten up.

you should read the threads before responding...i wanted to talk about bonzi's three-pointer so i put it out there to see what others thought...some spurs fan retorted by saying that i was diverting the topic so that people would forget that we mavs fans were assholes and my retort was that i wasn't the one celebrating wade's injury...so yes, i'm going to defend myself from being called an asshole

anyone see bonzi's three pointer at the other end of the court's three point line?
good change of topic. hopefully everyone will forget what big assholes you are

    This thread is disgusting.

Mavs fans -- Do you not recall when Irvin went down in Philly and the crowd cheered? Remember how that made you feel?

Is it okay to laugh at someone for dislocating a shoulder but not for breaking his neck? What about a broken leg (LT's hit on Theismann)? What about a torn ACL? Where do you draw the line?

I'm pretty sure none of you would have been laughing had you been in Wade's shoes. You don't have to feel sorry for him, but if you laugh at that kind of pain I can only hope you never experience it, because you certainly wouldn't have the kind of for ude to handle it. If you DO ever hurt yourself with any kind of severity, I can only hope there are people standing around to laugh at you. I'm sure you'll enjoy such a touching moment.

Leave these boards and go find some decency.

Down 30 points after three quarters, Dwyane Wade will be carted out to the court in a wheelchair, arm in a sling, 110 degree fever, dehydration, two toe hangnails, tennis elbow, and bronchitis. Then he'll proceed to drop 50 points in the fourth quarter on the Mavs, 46 of them on the free throw line, and it will be hailed as the greatest single performance in the history of athletics.

Funny thing about people criticizing this thread is earlier this season when Tracy McGrady was out with back spasms, Heat fans started a thread on their board laughing at McGrady and calling it karma for some of the things he said about Wade and the Heat.

I don't think most people want Wade to be seriously hurt. At least, I hope most people on this thread don't want that. I think they are just laughing at his overdramatics. The extreme hate on Wade might be over the top. But, there is some humor in this. It's not like the kid died.

    My bad.

    Man...what a !

Still, if it's any consolation, I think he wasn't singling you out. I think he was referring to both of you for "changing the topic", since I guess you're both mavs fans.

Man. This place is so stupid at times.

I don't believe you people, well some of you. How can you laugh at this? Wade is a great player and attracts a lot of people to this sport. Aren't we supposed to be bball fans? As far as Mavs fans I know you're bitter but if you ever win a ring wouldn't you want to beat the best? Heat-Wade=not best.
I do agree the wheelchair might have been a little over the top but we're not him, we don't know how bad the pain was, and for someone who takes hard falls constantly it must have been pretty bad. He's not the kind of player that cries constantly over a broken nail. I hope he's fine and back soon, he's fun to watch.

If his shoulder popped out and stayed out, then his reaction makes sense. I've dislocated mine twice and the first time it popped back in on it's own after a few seconds. It hurt like mf'r and after dislocating it again a year later (didn't pop back in after a few seconds) I had to have surgery to repair a torn labrum and rotator cuff.

Wade is out for the season IMO. I'd be surprised if there wasn't major damage...

I find it interesting that it's been said that "Well, if Dirk got hurt maybe 3 or 4 idiot Spurs fans would celebrate" as a means to prove that Spurs fans>Mavs fans. You realize that what you have here is just 3 or 4 idiot Mavs fans (plus a couple Lakers, Detroit fans), and the rest aren't celebrating. So I'm having a hard time seeing a huge difference.

For the record, if Wade is really hurt, then I feel bad. I can't deny that I hate his guts (yes, because it still stings from last season), but he is an amazing player, and you never want to take that away for the game or hope any person gets seriously hurt.

Ain't nobody laughing at the injury. People are laughing because he was carried out on a wheelchair for a hurt shoulder.

This isnt wade asking to bring in a wheel chair. This is an organization, doing every thing they can to protect a very valuable investment. If you spent 15m on a painting, would you just nail it to a wall, or would you make sure that is taken care of in the absolute, best way possible, not taking any chances?!?

jesus, this guy IS the heat franchise, you expect them to risk that?

Sheesh... A dislocated shoulder can pretty much knock the walk out of your legs. I dunno if you all have suffered one, but that ish is NOT funny at all. It pretty much can paralyze you. When you walk, your shoulders move. When someone carries you, your shoulder moves... Neither of which they did, to keep the extent of his pain as small as it could be. That's not funny.

It is kinda interesting to see how this injury plays into the next few games, specially tonights MAVS/HEAT match after DWade started such a tiff with his Dirk - non leader comments. Karma...? Maybe. I dunno. I didn't watch the game to see what all happened, I just woke up hearing about it...

Sux that he had to get injured. Sux it had to be right before the Mavs game he was lookin forward to (I'm sooo sure). I wouldnt wish injury on anyone or laff at it. I def dont agree he DESERVED it... that is a little harsh - fan or not, would you want it wished on you? or your fav player???

I will admit that at first I thought that the wheel chair might have been a little over the top. However, I have dislocated the same shoulder three times, and each time it never relocated on its own. The pain from the first dislocation was pretty intense. In the matter of minutes it took for my buddy to drive me home after the injury, I was completely pale from the pain. The next 25 minutes to the hospital was the most excruciating car ride in my life. If I was in Wade's shoes, and someone asked if I wanted to walk to the locker room or take a wheelchair, I would choose the wheelchair. And just to let you know, I am no stranger to pain. I have also torn ligaments in my ankle (3rd degree sprain), torn ACL and meniscus, disloacted pinky finger, and had 54 s ches to my head from an attack by a german shepard.

So, after reading the posts and taking some time to think about it. I don't think the wheelchair was shenanigans or over the top. And I really hope people do not cheer or hope injury on any player in any sports because it is just horrible sportsmanship.

Exactly...if his shoulder was still "out" then he definitely wouldn't feel like walking...

Ouch...This is crazy, but after every game the possibility of Miami and Detroit in the first round grows. Best case scenario for the Heat is Wade being out a month. That looked like a real serious injury. Before the season started I said somehow Wade was going to get hurt. I never thought Miami's season would start to crumble though. This could cost them making the playoffs.

Did it though? Having seen it a few times on SC, it didn't really look that bad. I mean, not wheelchair, crying and stretcher bad. I thought the reaction looked worse than the moment the injury was sustained.

wow, dallas and detroit fans are some real es.
nice because if I'm not mistaken, there have been the same type of comments from suns, lakers, kings, rockets and spurs fans in this thread. Get off your high horse. No one wished injury on him. These comments weren't made til after the fact. I hope its nothing serious, but when you over-dramatize every little thing that happens to you, people are going to be skeptical. Anyway, I have read from many Mavs fans that we don't want him to be injured, myself included. I want to face them at full strength and was really looking forward to the real rematch with everyone back. Hope he is not out too long.

it may not have looked bad because it happened so quick... watch it in slow motion though and tell me a shoulder is supposed to bend like that. not to mention we dont have close up sound of the incident, when you hear a loud pop or snap coming from your body followed by excruciating pain... it always seems to make things worse

Heat fans should be cheering this injury. With that team full of fat, lazy heads and old guys about to retire, the best thing to ever happen to Wade and the Heat would be getting a lottery pick.
