Yeah someone lowers their shoulder into Manu and they are the ones that are at risk of being injured good comment genius.
I seem to recall Barbosa getting injured by a totally unecessary (and ridiculously exaggerated) flop by Manu. I'm sure there are other examples.

Raja's a tough guy who uses unecessary roughness; that's not the same thing as being dirty. Dirty is what wimps do who can't handle things straight up, ie the Spurs.

Anyway, I hope STAT's comments will make the refs get their heads out of their asses. If game 3 is called fairly Suns should take it.

On ESPN - Sportscenter just now

    I'm paraphrasing:

[I]"I would NOT call Bruce Bowen a dirty player due to the fact that I was also called a dirty player.
    Wow, there's logic for yah.

In the end all thats going to happen is that the Suns will split the road games. The Spurs will take Game 3 and the Suns Game 4.

I think some fans get too carried away with this stuff. Look the NBA is not exactly thrilled with the prospect of another Spurs/Pistons Finals rematch. If anything the League will be doing cartwheels if the Suns end up eliminating the Spurs and the Pistons losing in the East Finals to either the Cavs or Nets. That series while I watched all 7 games was not exactly exciting to anyone except basketball junkies like me.
What difference does any of that make? Are you suggesting that the correctness of Amare's statement -- or of Crawford's no call in Game 2 -- should somehow be judged by who these teams are and what they bring to the table for the lowest common denominator?

Again, if it's about excitement and ratings, let's just make this like the WWE or American Idol. Why not just make the compe ive element of the game an illusion and leave it up to the league to decide or for fans to vote to ensure that two telegenic teams are in the Finals and nobody ever has to worry about small market, boring teams like the Spurs.

    no ? i think ur a in liar....how do u kno that??

    can u prove that??

Ummm...the Spurs traded the pick to the Suns before it was made, but didn't get the paperwork or approval or whatever done in time, so the Spurs picked the Sun's choice. The Suns wanted him and the Spurs didn't want the guaranteed salary of a first rounder. That's old news...I'm not looking it up, but if you're that wound up about it Google "Barbosa 2003 draft Spurs Suns" and you should be able to find it.

What FLop by Manu? please elborate instead of another re ed assumption.

Of course I hope the refs get their head's out of their asses because they are definitely giving all the calls to the Spurs it's so obvious.

Maybe if your team wasn't so pathetic you would be up 2-0 instead of down 0-2!
    Here ya go:

Barbosa out 2-3 weeks after Ginobili fell into his knee
    ESPN.com news services

Phoenix Suns guard Leandro Barbosa could miss up to three weeks with an injury to his left knee.

Barbosa has Grade 2 sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee and is out two to three weeks, the team said Monday.

But while the diagnosis received a sigh of relief from the team, it offered little solace for Barbosa who believes the injury could have been avoided.

He was injured Saturday when Spurs guard Manu Ginobili fell into him. He did return to play in the second half of that game.

"Ginobili always likes to flop," Barbosa told The Arizona Republic. "Nobody even touched him.

"He jost flopped. That's why I feel sad to hurt myself like that," he added. "I wish I could have hurt myself in another way."

Suns coach Mike D'Antoni told the paper Ginobili "got tangled up a little bit" with Raja Bell when he stumbled backward, and "just to make his point, he was falling down."

"It was an accident," D'Antoni told the Republic.

Ginobili has been accused in the past of overacting to draw fouls; Suns forward Shawn Marion even joked about practicing his own acting skills during last season's Western Conference finals, the paper reported.

Barbosa was averaging 15.7 points in 25.8 minutes this season.

    --

Ginobli thus puts other players at risk with his absurd offensive flopping. He does not try to hurt players intentionally like Bowen does, but he's still a dirty player.

the league would do cartwheels if the Lakers and Heat were in the finals and that's about the only two teams they'd love to see. You could probably add the cavs to that list as well but the suns? They're a small market like the spurs, just because there is more scoring doesn't mean lots of people will tune in. Superstars bring in viewers and Nash isn't a superstar, the average joe doesn't realize how good he is and probably thinks Wade or LBJ is way better. No team drew a bigger audience then Jordan's Bulls and they were great defensive team that kept the game in the 80s to 90s.

Let's not go jumping to conclusions here.

Manu doesn't have Bruce's do ented history of purposefully injuring players here in the NBA, is how I would put it.
