I didn't want to click on this thread because I assumed that it was just about all the Vick stuff, and frankly, I've watched enough on it to last a lifetime.
However, thinking that I'd get some of the takes on the entire issue intrigued me enough to click.

The saddest part in all that is that he'll somehow find a way to get away with this because he's a rich athelete with other more richer peoples monies riding on his success and return. Losing Vick would likely equate to losing around a billion dollars.
I could care less if he actually bet on dog fighting and I could care less if actually killed the dogs himself. It was his ing house on his ing property with his kennel the he owned and it went on for months if not years. He has to be accountable for what happens in his home. Its not like this was some isolated incident. It was regular practice in his home. I hope they fry this guy like some chicken.

If Vick is convicted, then no, he'll never play in the NFL again.
I expect Vick to be back. He'll get a fine for allowing it to happen in his home but it'll be tough to lend credibility to low life gamblers and dog killers.

Not if his lawyers can convince the jury that while the house was in his name he had nothing to do with it. As it stands now any jury in the world would probably find him guilty. His lawyers are going to try and portray Vick as a victim in the case who was being used by family members and friends taking advantage of his kindness. But that being said your point make sense due to the fact that you very rarely get a Federal Indictment against you if the Feds don't have a STRONG case against you. If they have pictures, phone calls, witnesses willing to testify, then Vick may be up s*** creek.
They have to have phone calls and such. And, there isn't a single person in this country that hasn't been exposed to the news out there that's going to have a favorable opinion of him. He's screwed.
Unfortunately this has become a racial issue. Atlanta is divided now, and it's getting ugly. Some season ticket holders have asked for their money back if he returns and some if he doesn't. It's a no win situation right now.

I've never subscribed to the "music made me do it" bull , but I used to teach in public school for years. One thing that showed up everyday as true as the sun would rise were kids dressed up like rappers (which I really don't give a about). About 85% of the time, they wore shirts with Pitbulls baring all teeth and some rapper in the background.
I even remember seeing a T-shirt of "Lil' Bow-wow" when he was a kid holding on to two leashes of pitbulls ready to attack someone or something.
I'm not saying that rap/hip-hop makes people want to fight pitbulls against each other, but it may glorify it just a bit.

I just read this mornig that one of the co-defendent that just pleaded out just stated that Vick was the bankroller for the entire thing. Man I'm anxious to see what kind of argument his attorneys are going to put up.
