I wasn't...until now. I must've missed something.
Roy 0-8FG
Is Bruce on him?
I wasn't...until now. I must've missed something.
Wait, you mean there are re s out there that think otherwise. What are their names? They need to be locked up and smacked in the head for such idiotic thinking.
I guess manu looks ok, lets just blow this open even more and go into damage-control mode
if there is no tear or anything he will be fine, thank god this happened in December and not March
No, he's fine. He's playing now (well, before the TO). He went down earlier in the game and seemed to be clutching his wrist/thumb, and then didn't make an appearance in the second half before just now.
But given his play in the first half and now that he's in again, I'm not concerned.
Nice to see everybody tune out the game and only stress about the Duncan injury. Spurs up by 20, 68-48.
I'm fine with resting him longer than he needs if it means no worries about re-injuring it.
Sounds like he just twisted the ankle to cause the sprain and banged the knee on the floor. If the Ligaments were stable on initial examination it is not likely he suffered any major tears that the MRI will reveal tomorrow.
68-48.
3:00 left in the third.
Duncan status is all that matters right now. Spurs are Duncan, like the Bulls were Jordan.
Well, JT, it's not exactly a close game, and if Duncan were out for the remainder of the season, so this game doesn't exactly mean much in that view.
But in honor of you, I like Oberto's play today tremendously, especially the last basket he just made with his back to the basket.
This Spurs team definitely still makes the playoffs without Duncan. Lots of talent and championship experience. The Spurs are far from being a one man team.
Parker made one FT and score is +18
Vaughn coming in for Tony, watch out for a Portland comeback.
Beautiful shot by Barry.
Damn, I love watching Barry when he's on. I'm so glad he is still here.
True, they make the playoffs.
They have the experience, they are not a one man team.
But I don't believe they go all the way without Duncan.
Uh Duncan's injury status is only about 234242908128213 times more important than this game. The Blazers sucks and the game is already over.
Playoffs yes but the team would be pretty depressed. They know they have no SHOT at all to win a le without Timmy and that is what the Spurs are about, trying to win les.
I realize that, but I just can't help but scoff at the suicide watch mentality when we're up by 20+ without Duncan. I know we're not playing the Mavs or Suns, but the injury doesn't appear to be long term and the team is balling without Timmy. It's like putting two and two together and coming up with five.
They might make the playoffs, but probably not at the top of the Conference. And without the Spurs trademark D. Duncan anchors the D. While it hasn't been anything great in the early going, it is crucial to winning in the playoffs, especially against teams like the Mavs (who already match up well), Utah (clears the boards and a has a great big man or two), the Rockets (maintaining good D and with a really, really, really good big man). Duncan is one of our mismatches against the Suns.
We'd be playing these teams in the first round. Our chances of a repeat without Duncan are about as good as we had defending our first championship without Duncan.
Not to mention those of us who would name Duncan as their personal favorite all time player, like me. . .
So far all signs point to short term injury... under a week probably... why even trip out about it now.
