I am a little shocked. I could not believe that Russia was that strong. They were in shape and run hard even in the overtime. I thought that Holland had a great chance of winning it all this year. Especially the way they played at the beginning of the tournament. Besides Germany, I was rooting for Holland to win it all.
I really hope Spain beats Italy tonight. Russia will be a tough task for both teams.
Deserved win for the Russians, though I'm still a bit s shocked. Props to Guus, the players stood in a perfect formation. The distances between players were excellent and they played with great discipline. Well.....very undutchlike perhaps, but I'm rooting for the Germans...

I thought that Netherland will have more power in the overtime as most of them were not playing against Romain, but the youngest team, Russia were just playing better and better.
I don['t know who to root for now. Chechs did not make it through groups ... In Poland we hate Germans so maybe I will root for them. Nobody gave them a chcnce after the group rounds - now they will face Turkey and I think they got big chance winning it. All in all they have bad games behind them. They can play better.

I can say it is realy good turnament, and the refs are doing a good job, they are letting players play so there are less flops then in Worl Championships for excample

That display by Italy yesterday takes the cake for the sorriest and worst performance I've ever seen. The diving and time wasting was absolutely de able and the "playing for PKs" was horse . They deserved to lose that game and I'm glad Spain won.

Anyways, I agree. Spain was the much better team (iirc, they had about 60-40 possession % almost the entire game). I might be alone here but I think Spain dove for PKs all friggin game long as well. Both sides were equally terrible, and it slowed the game down a of a lot.
@ polandprzem....Exactly why do you hate The Netherlands? They're one of the few countries who actually wants to win a game instead of starting a game with a mindset of not loosing...
