In its statement, the FBI agreed with the DNC’s implication that it had instead relied on data from Crowdstrike. But the Bureau points the finger for its lack of independent evaluation squarely at the DNC. According to the FBI official, “This left the FBI no choice but to rely upon a third party for information. These actions caused significant delays and inhibited the FBI from addressing the intrusion earlier.”

So, the Russians hack of the DNC used a technique with low probability of success and made sure we knew it was them. In Comey's words, they were "unusually loud" as though they "wanted us to see what they were doing." And we are supposed to believe the Trump campaign wanted this?
I'm pretty sure more Americans have heard "grab 'em by the pussy" than have read Podesta emails. Do you think that illegally recorded and leaked conversation was intended to sway the election? Hillary even used it in her ads. And that was done by NBC.

This is the problem with immediate news. It's done by people with an axe to grind and the overall analysis is very poor. It's not fit into any telling context. This is why waiting for the major papers with real investigative reporters to accurately depict the larger picture or pick one story specifically about one individual.
We have Manafort who has been paid by businesses in a foreign country. Yes he cannot be stupid enough to not know these large en ies dont work without some sort of Kremlin ok, but, that's what we have got. We also have plenty of US citizens who work directly for Saudi oil concerns. They must know that some of that money is tied to funding terrorist camps yet they continue. We have banks who launder illegal money from foreign en ies. And we know that some of these US citizens have very close ties or actively participate in our government. They all figure they are far enough removed from the source to not break any federal laws.
Anytime the US government creates sanctions against specific foreign money you know someone is willing to break the rules. It's just like drug dealing, only very white collar.
So no need to wonder why intelligence has so much power.
WE make rules. People with international ties and a bit of greed try to play the game. The more these people know about the rules, the better they are at sliding their white collar butts around them. Chris Hayden of the Center for American progress sent out a list of what looks to be possible collusion points between the Trump campaign and the Russian government after the FBI Director James Comey said they were investigating whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia.Was there collusion between “individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government”?
Here is what we know:
- April 2016: Paul Manafort discusses an “array of subjects related to the presidential campaign, including the hacking of the DNC’s emails” with Konstantin Kilimnik, a Russian-Ukrainian political operative with ties to Russian intelligence.
- June 15, 2016: NBC confirms the DNC has been hacked by “Russian government cyber operations.” Hours later, Trump issues a statement deflecting blame from Russia and claiming, “it was the DNC that did the ‘hacking.’”
- July 7, 2016: Carter Page allegedly meets with Putin confidants Igor Sechin and Igor Divykin in Moscow, according to U.S. officials. Corey Lewandowski personally approved Page’s travel and during his post-election trip to Moscow, Page says he met with an “executive from Rosneft.”
- July 11-15, 2016: Trump campaign successfully lobbies RNC to drop anti-Russia language in the party platform. A Republican delegate involved in the platform later confirms Trump’s campaign played a “direct role in softening the party’s support for Ukraine at a time of heightened tensions with Russia.”
- July 20, 2016: Carter Page, JD Gordon, Michael Flynn, and Jeff Sessions meet with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak at the Republican National Convention.
