Mental aspect of the game is crucial for his success.
He's got the skill set and the physical predispositions.
Bobby Knight said that the importance of the mental to the physical is about four to one.
He's got a lot of work ahead of him.
But, the outlook is positive.
To be fair both Woodard and Samanic attacked their big guy constantly because he wasn’t the quickest. Lol.
I will say Luka did that spin move on the block on another defender besides the center though. Lol. Dude is really quick for a big guy. He did a good job guarding the guard who was shooting great for the opposition on a switch and made him shoot a contested jumper.
The special "superstar" layup at the 0:50 mark.
That is just ridiculous. It doesn’t matter what league you’re playing in, that’s legit. Then you realise the guy that made it is 21 and goes 6 10”.
Awesome stuff.
By the way, that highlight vid doesn't do Luka justice. It misses out on his excellent man to man D, his drives to the basket that led to free throws, etc.
So far Luka is on a mission and it shows. I like it![]()
He definitely looks more confident. He’s also a lot more poised off his first step. Very encouraging.
I like what I’ve seen from him and Jones in both games. Damn shame Woodard is on another team in the NBA because I like him also
I only got to see the second half but I was impressed with how much he looked like a ready made player rather than a WIP project.
A small sample size undoubtedly but he played with an elitist aura about him, and I mean that in absolutely a complimentary fashion.
He was the best player on the floor and was rightfully ticked off when didn’t get the ball on b2b possessions late in the 4th.
I rewatched it. Way too early to get up for a G League game... in Europe![]()
Imagine telling someone this exact same thing a year ago, on hereyou'd have gotten laughed off the board...
I only watched the condensed game (will none of the GL games be broadcast "regularly" so everyone can watch? smh), but Luka's looking like a really different player, both compared to last season and his first stint in Austin. It really looks like he don't want anymore of the "small boys club" and is proving that he can dominate lower level compe ion. We'll see whether he keeps it up, but these two games have been extremely promising.
Btw, thanks as always for the info and comments, my guy Dejounte. Super informative.

Meh. I’ve been saying for a while that Luka is doing fine, there’s just a lot of posters on this forum now that seem to prefer to hate our players than root for them.
Eventually, one way or another, Luka will have a bad game and all of you will go back to saying he sucks.
Inevitability is inevitable.
I’ve seen both games on YouTube live. Just search it on YouTube during game.
. Announcer for NBAtv keeps calling us the Toros.
Love the way Luka posts up instead of forcing a drive.
He had one defensive lapse so far but it was during a fast break so not that bad
Another post offense score by Luka. Nice.
Luka fighting his own teammate for a rebound. Come on man
