During a recent interview with Tatame.com, Cris "Cyborg" Santos discussed facing Gina Carano as soon as February 2009 for the EliteXC Women's Championship:
"I think it'll be in February, and it'll be cool. Everybody wanna see this fight, we both fight on the last event and won, and it'll be great. I'll keep my Muay Thai like I did in my last fights. I'll stand with her, and I think she likes it too, so why not? It'll be a huge fight and someone is going down. [EliteXC] didn't say if it's going to be for the belt, but I think it'll be".
Yea what I don't like in UFC commentary (in general as well) is when they have they "phrases" and repeating them all over again.
I know that is good to have something to be famous from, but that kills the flow and emotions.

Fights like these make me waver on my recent belief that he is willing to fight cans because he doesn't really have a good idea about their background. I mean…its great that he is fighting Arlovski and Tim but that’s now balanced out by Choi and some extremely obscure nobody who isn't even good enough to be on TUF.
This eliminates any excuse that he doesn't know their cans.
Well i don't like that new deal but he just whipped Sylvia and is supposed to fight Andrei Arlovski in Jan, both are top flight heavyweights. So i would not say he is just fighting cans. And the Champ in the UFC NOG, he has beat not once but twice.

Yeah but he is fighting Andrei soon, he is a tremendous fighter. So he'll fight a can after that fight. To me it doesn't matter. He owns the current champ in the UFC and would smash any other Heavy in the UFC as well. Randy should be lucky they never fight. He has no chance whatsoever.
Still doesn't wipe out the fact that he is fighting some bogus fights again like the old days. Fact is fact…Anderson should not be fighting cans and neither should Fedor. That’s not the way it is supposed to work. Not with them…not with GSP…not with BJ Penn…not with anyone. Fighting a badass does not give you a free pass to fight a can.
He will always get a free pass from me for NYE but add this in and its suddenly same can a can crushing pattern.
Well what do you want him to do though?? He is not in the UFC and won't likely get there ever. Give me a list of guys not in the UFC you feel he needs to fight?? Is there another guy out there not in the UFC that is much better than Tim?? For me dessimating a top guy like Tim in 36 seconds gives him some cred that some were taking away from him. You even picked Tim to win that fight i believe. I get your point abot he is the best so he needs to fight the best. But that is a short list gven his contractual status right now.

I know his options are limited but you don't fight a real fight every other fight right? If there is nobody for him to fight why is he signing a long term deal with Affliction?

He is fighting Cote who has never been a top flight fighter at any weight class. Not long ago he lost bad to Travis Lutter. And just 3 fights ago he Beat Kendall Grove, who is all but washed up completely in MMA. I know Silva has fought the best a lot in the UFC but Fedor does not have that option.

How am i ignoring what you said, when you say here that "you know his options are limited"?? That is what i said and you agree. Again who are the big time guys for him to fight consistantly when he is not in the UFC? As it stands 2 of his last 3 fights will be against legit guys. For not being in the UFC, that's not bad.

Who knows, why he does things. You are the one that tells me he is aloof and out there when it comes to MMA. Fedor is a tough one to figure out.

I'm still not hearing who you expect him to fight given his current situation. You don't like that he is fighting some cans but other than Tim, who he just killed and Andrei who he'll likely beat what much else can he do consistantly to find compe on?
