No reason for the defender to go down in the box? He's a freaking defender, what else is he going to do but slide to block any shot attempts? He slid to try to block or trap the ball, the Italian player flopped like a little and as par for this World Cup, the ref bought it and made the worst call possible, a penalty kick. I'm still in shock as to what a pathetic ending that was.

Cause this was not a clear faul. In that situation you are not calling that kind of play as a penalty.
On a replay you could see the flop of a year, he was passing (with the ball) the laying Aussie then he saw an oppurtunity left one leg and pulls of Manu.

Italy: Most overrated team in this Cup, and that includes England. I'll now be watching all of their games just so that I can root against them. They're like a team of 11 Mark Cubans--cynical, unsportsmanlike and willing to do any amount of whining to get themselves a win.
