Back to RvP... All that mofo had to do was insist on moving to anyone but MU or Totts and Arsenal would have found a buyer willing to pay. As long as he was a Gunner, he should have had some respect for us, the fans, who supported him through thick and thin.
Is that irrational? Yeah, of course it is. Soccer is a business, but I really don't think it's too much to ask to go get the same (or slightly less) $$$ from someone who doesn't have a long standing, bitter rivalry with the team you're departing. Wanger and Arsenal management also bear some of the blame for not telling Fergie to go himself.
What's really sad is that MU was markedly improved with his addition, blowing everyone else away and basically locking down the Premiership with a month left to go. Without RvP (on MU), Arsenal's chances would have been much better. The Gunners double ed themselves over what, 5 million pounds maybe? Take less money and ship his ass to Spain, Italy, or Germany, for s sake.
And goddamn Wanger better spend money this offseason. 4th most valuable club in the world with plenty of cash on hand. No excuses not to.
