I’m kind of invested now so Red Sox better win this series, no question. Def win game 5. The goal always was to take at least 2 at Fenway anyway.

Yikes, Schwarbs might need to hit another slam to make up for that error.

Ynoa scratched for the Braves. Shoulder inflammation. Season over.

Chavez getting the start. Then carousel of pitchers.

Back2Back jacks in the 1st from Rosario & Duvall

Urias has not looked sharp. Likely another bullpen game for Los Angeles.

Now that's how you respond to a chokejob. Urias was not himself from the start just like Max a few days ago. This series might have a negative ruling on analytics.

I started to question if the strategy would pay off but today we saw the Dodgers arms run out of steam.

But let's give the Braves lineup their credit. Freeman has rebounded and Duvall (career postseason struggles) finally had his moment. On the flip side the Braves pen held up. Smyly made his 1st appearance of the playoffs and will surely be called upon again.

The Dodgers player that I would argue has been the biggest disappointment in the 2021 NLCS is Trea Turner.

Anyone follow the Dodgers close enough to know if Urias was off after Robertsovich put him in as a reliever in the failed attempt?

Or Urias looked the same as all season, Braves bats were just better?

I posted here he didn't look sharp in the 1st inning. It's fine to throws balls and make hitters chase but he was missing on some pitches badly. He's typically around the strike zone. You could also see him visibly frustrated

Urias has a history of coming out in relief in the playoffs (mixed results). The bigger issue to me is last season Urias threw 50 regular season inning and in 2021 that numbered multipled to 180.

For reference Urias did start against the Braves on June 4tg and pitched a gem.

^ So, re move by Robertsovich to use him in relief in Game 2?

Did game 2 contribute to Uris Game 4 loss?
    b. Would the regular Graterol / Jansen have been the way to go.
I know with Jensen a playoff blown save is always possible.

Definitely questionable move considering Max stated after Game 2 his arm felt off/dead - from coming in to close Game5 in the NLDS. So this was already known by Robert's before he decided to warm up Urias.

Dodgers are regarded as having a strong bullpen so questionable decision by Roberts to instead rely on his already tired starting pitching from a grueling finish to the season & NLDS.

But I also recognize Robert's has taken blame in past postseasons for relying on Jenson

It was a gamble by Robert's and completely blew up because Urias still blew Game 2 in relief. Let's assume Braves were destined to come back in Game 2 regardless of pitcher. Dodgers would still have a rested Urias in Game 4 down 2-1. Instead double whammy.

No one will remember Braves actually held a lead in Game5. Max struggled thru 4+ innings setting the tone. Chris Taylor with a career day outscoring the Braves himself.

Braves decided to save their bullpen for the weekend while Dodgers threw their best to keep Atlanta bats grounded

Is there momentum in baseball? If so Dodgers should have hope this weekend with Max and Buehler. Today was by far their best offensive output.

Soler has returned for the Braves strengthening their bench. Anderson and Morton will take the mound.
